The Pussycat Dolls get Timbaland's kazoo

By now you've got the kazoo/"Your Covers Blown" video practically memorized right? Well whatever happened to that kazoo melody? Did Timbo ever reuse it?

Well one of our readers hit us up (thanks Jasonn) and noticed that after listening to The Pussycat Dolls' "Halo", the melody was reminiscent of the kazoo melody. I was skeptical so I called in the big gun, Czar, to take a listen and tell me what he thought. He agreed that the guitar melody in "Halo" is the same as the kazoo melody in the video. I'm still skeptical so now it's time to ask all of you. What do you think? The same? Similar? Not ever close?

  2. I will say this: When I heard Halo, I immediately thought of the video. But now after actually seeing the video, I will say it's not dead, on, but cot damn they're similar. You have to think that Tim was trying to recreate that same feel with Halo.

  4. every timbaland track sounds close to every other timbaland track these days. This is nothing new.

also compare "Halo" with that new leaked track "Say" by Tim ft. T-Pain. (not "talk that") very similar.

    or 4 minutes/Elevator.

  5. The first time I heard Halo, I remember thinking "hey, it's that song with the kazoo"

So, yes I think it's an extrapolation

  8. At least i would say that the intro to Halo is definitely similar to the Timbaland remix of "Saw theme", especially the drum patterns, played in the beginning of the Timbaland intermission on the Justin FS/LS tour

  9. haha i think if you listen to "Make It Rain" you'll realize more of a similarity than this kazoo melody.

  16. Yo, I hear little reference in the PCD's track.

Timbaland just added a snippet of Chris's "Scream" on his MySpace.

  24. I'm not sure, but haven't Timbaland used the same "whistle" in Justins "My Love"? Right around the chorus.

Let me know what you think...
