Tiffany Evans and Timbo

Whoa now here's a real banger straight from Timbo. It's called "Girls Gone Wild" by a new artist named Tiffany Evans. You can check out more info on her via her fansite and her myspace page.

It's written by The Clutch and produced by Timbo and I hope the full comes out very soon. 15 years old and she sounds like this? Sounds like another Jazmine Sullivan in the ranks! This track is sick, definitely one of my favorite Tim tracks this year by far. Big ups to Tom for the link!

New Young Jeezy

What's up ya'll!! J Boogie is back from a dope 2 weeks of rest, relaxation, and lots of great memories. If you ever get a chance go see Budapest and especially Vienna, they are 2 amazing cities. So I gotta give it up to my man Czar for holdin' down The Chronicles while I was gone. I see he's done a great job and you can consider him a full time contributor to the site so be on the look out for those Czar gems.

Well let's get down to business. Mr. Young Jeezy's got a track on his new album produced by none other than Timbo himself. The track is called "3 A.M." take a listen.

So what ya'll think? Props to my man Introduction and Aidlingen for the track. It's good to be home!

Video: Omarion "Icebox"

Here's the video of Omarion's new single "Icebox." Yes Tim is on the track, and yes tim is in the video, but no, Timbaland did not produce this track. Still cool to see Tim in the white suit in the white Rolls.

Thoughts on the video?

Peace,
Czar

Czar's Sample of the Week

Happy early Thanksgiving from myself and J Boogie! I'm leaving town in a few, so I thought I would post the sample of the week a little earlier than usual. This week, I thought I would share an oldy but goody.

Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'" had to be the record of the summer in 2000, but few people knew at that time that the song sampled a highly popular Egyptian song. Although most people beleive that Tim sampled "Khosara" from Abdel Halim Hafez, it was really the Hossam Ramzy version, "Khusara Khusara" that Tim sampled.

Regardless of the version tho, there was a lot of controversy surrounding the sampling of "Khusara" from both newspapers in the U.S. and newspapers in Egypt. Check out one publication by the Al Ahram Weekly:

"Pimpin A Classic" .

That's it for this week's installment. Happy Thanksgiving!

Till next time,

Timbaland Album News: New Name, New Date

Timbaland Nabs 50 Cent, Dr. Dre For LP, Starts Timberlake Gossip Frenzy
By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Sway Calloway

Producer reveals plans for domination with help of Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy, Björk, Elton John.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia — Thanks to his work on recent projects by Justin
Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, as well as the upcoming 50 Cent LP, Timbaland is enjoying what he's been accustomed to for the past 10 years of his career — success. But even with his storied discography of classics for everyone from Aaliyah and Missy Elliott to Jay-Z and LL Cool J, Tim said that over the past couple of years, when he wasn't putting out as much music, he heard whispers that he might be losing his touch. "Everybody was talking their little trash, y'all know who y'all are," Tim said at his studio last week. "They said, 'Timbaland is falling off.' I don't never fall off. I just relax like a vampire in the coffin. When I wake up, you better be prepared, because somebody is going to get bit on the neck. Next thing you know, I have a slew of vampires running around. When you become the best like me, you never fall off, you just lean back." Well somebody call Blade, because Count Drac is wide awake and ready to wreak even more havoc next year when his upcoming LP, tentatively titled Timbaland Presents Shock Value, comes out. "I'm not just hip-hop," Tim insisted. "My mission is to take over top-40 radio — what they call popular music, different genres of music — and reach all types of people." It seems like Tim reached out to almost everyone in every corner of the music industry for the project, which he's calling a compilation. One track is "what everybody is waiting for," he revealed, "me and Dr. Dre. I did [the beat], it's hard. I got 50, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne. The other stuff is rock: She Wants Revenge, the Hives, I'm about to get the Fall Out Boys, Björk, Elton John." Tim went on to say that he's interested in eventually signing the Hives and M.I.A. "Last Piece of the Puzzle," his collabo with John, was recorded in Las Vegas. "It was cool. I didn't have him sing, I had him play. I was like, 'Go ahead, John.' I might get a choir to sing on top of it."

Though the album is packed with headline-making names, Tim's first single is already newsworthy. "Give it to Me" has Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake and Tim throwing subliminal jabs in their verses, and it's up to the audience to figure it out what — or who — they're talking about. "I seen you try to switch it up, but girl you ain't that dope," Furtado sings. Tim's verse includes the lines, "I'm a real producer and you just a piano man/ Your song moved up the charts I heard, but I'm not a fan/ N---as talking greasy, I'm the one that gave them they chance/ Somebody need to tell them they can't do it like I can." The Internet has been most abuzz about Timberlake's verse, though, with gossip sites speculating that his harsh words are aimed at Janet Jackson: "I saw you tryin' to act cute on TV, 'Just let me clear the air'/ We missed you on the charts last week/ Damn, that's right, you wasn't there/ Now if sexy never left, then why is everybody on my sh--?/ Don't hate on me just because you didn't come up with it." A source close to the record said that Timberlake's lyrics have nothing to do with his infamous Super Bowl co-star — but he is responding to another pop artist who has seen career heights few other singers can boast. Tim's album will come out via his Mosley Music imprint, like Nelly Furtado's Loose. He's hoping to have the LP ready for a March release date.

Source

If you thought Timbaland owned 2006, I think this new album definitely hints that he will own 2007 too! Damn, Tim has done it again!! For those of us still counting, this will be the third time Tim has owned the airwaves: 1996-98 with the early Aaliyah, Missy, Ginuwine, etc. and the double beat; 2001-2003 with the Indian and Arabic samples; and now 2006-?

Till next time,

Czar's Samples of the Week

Before I go into the Timbo samples for this week (yes, not sample, but samples), I have to give a shout out to my man J Boogie for giving me the opportunity to takeover while he's on vacation. This is an honor. I know I won't be able hold down the Chronicles like he has, but I hope to bring my own flavor to the Chornicles and that you all enjoy it!

Now, back to business. It is another new week, and with a new week brings a new installment of "Czar's Sample of the Week." As I already stated, I will be hitting yall with two samples this week. Why two? Well, last week J Boogie and some of you all wanted the sample to Brandy's "Nodding Off," and I thought I would give the Tim stans what they wanted, but also something unexpected.

So of course the first track is the sample to Brandy's "Nodding Off.". For those who don't know, this track was not featured on the U.S. release of her album "Afrodisiac," but it was on the Japanese release. It samples the song "Jab Hum Jawan Honge" from the 1983 Bollywood film "Bataab" and sung by the great Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar.

Now on to the bonus sample...the sample to Ludacris' "Roll Out". This track samples the song "Yay Boy" from Afro-Latino group Africando. I don't know where the hell Tim was at when he decided to sample Africando, but "Roll Out" was a hit. Take a listen...

Ok that's it for this week's installment of "Czar's Sample of the Week." Next week, I hope to bring the Tim stans another treat.

Peace,
Czar

You Think You Know, But You Have No Idea

No it hasn't been youtubed yet, but we do now have a link to MTV's "Diary of Timbaland aka Thomas Crown". All the Tim stans know how little footage there is of Tim in the studio, and "Diary" doesn't disappoint with two scenes of Tim in the studio. Check out Busta's face when he stumbles on that hot ass percussion sound.

Feelings?

Peace,
Czar

New D.O.E produced by Timbaland

Folks I give you another gem here on The Chronicles:

D.O.E f/ Candice Nelson & Timbaland "Just Might Lose It"

Yes that's Candice Nelson singing background. Just when I want to say this is a pretty straight forward track, those warped sythns come in and add a whole new element to the song. Listen to my man D.O.E!! Dude is hungry and killin' it on the mic just like always. D.O.E man you the future! Can't wait to hear for your album to drop.

Now here's perfect example of what we've been talking about lately. I originally heard this track on myspace, I ripped it, but before posting it I asked the appropriate people including D.O.E himself if it was ok. He and his people gave me the go and so I posted it. Again it's all about respect.

What ya'll think of the track? Holla!

New Timbaland Productions

This week I've added quite a bit of new Timbo productions. Received a few alternates (thanks Czar) and found a few other rarities. Plus Sebastian and DOE (see above) have been puttin' it down with the exclusives!

Additions:

Snoop Dogg F/ Damian Marley "Get A Light"
Virginia Williams "Without U"
Justin Timberlake F/ T.I. "My Love" (Demo Version) LOL!
Ms Jade "Dream" (Alternate Version)
Jay-Z "Come And Get Me" (Alternate Version)
Nas F/ Ginuwine "You Owe Me" (Video Version)
Memphis Bleek F/ Jay-Z & Missy Elliott "Is That Yo Chick" (Alternate Dirty Video Version) Thanks Jeremie!
D.O.E f/ Candice Nelson "Just Might Lose It"

Dang the lists are getting bigger by the day! Anything else to add?

Justin's "My Love" (Demo Version)

If you know me, you know I love me some alternate versions! I just came across a real gem though the quality isn't that great. Here we have Justin Timberlake's "My Love" the demo version.

Can you hear all the differences despite the low quality of the track? Timbo's beat boxing is a lot louder and more prominent. During the first 2 bridges ("...I can see us holding hands....") Justin is pretty much talking versus singing. There are no Justin vocal echoes or harmonizing like the original either.

Timbaland's "Give It To Me"

Sadly the track has leaked but you will not be hearing it here. I will not post it, will not have a link to it, and will not promote it unless told otherwise. Why? Because it was not meant to be heard......yet. Sure we're all Timbo fans, stans actually, so why wouldn't we have enough respect for Tim as a musician and an artist not to leak a track he didn't want leaked?

We're not talking about some throw away track or some unmastered freestyle, this track has the 2 biggest artists of 2006, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake over a beat by the best producer of '06. This track was thought out and strategically chosen to be the first single yet here it is being passed around the net without permission or knowledge by the one who made it.

Now I'm not getting into the politics of it, I have no idea what happened. All I know is I'm a Timbaland fan and I got enough respect for him and his craft not to promote a piece of music he was not ready to share with the world. I'm not looking for controversy and I'm not looking to argue. Just my 2 cents that's all.

Timbaland gets sampled (Part 1)

First off excuse me for not getting that Timbo/Snoop track up to listen to, I was having some trouble with the site but it's up now so go take a listen.

So it's been determined that Tim samples and samples well but what about Tim's productions? Have they ever been sampled? The answer is yes though not too many of his tracks have been sampled. Let's just start with those tracks that have only had their lyrics sampled. For example:

Cassidy's "I'm A Hustla" samples the lyrics from Jay-Z's "Dirt Off Your Shoulders"

Juvenile's "The Way I Be Leaning" also samples the lyrics Jay-Z "Dirt Off Your Shoulder"

E-40's "Ya Blind" samples the lyrics (and the vocal riff ha!) from Missy Elliott's "Why You All In My Grill"

Finally, Skillz "Crew Deep" samples Missy's "Get UR Freak On" if only for a second, Tim still gets credit.

Now what about others? I know of a few more hence the Part I, but what about ya'll? Know any Timbo tracks that have been sampled? Holla!

Timbo drops "Get A Light" for Snoop

Snoop Dogg's Blue Carpet Special has leaked today and with it comes the hot new Timbo joint "Get A Light" F/ Damian Marley. It's taken a lot of listens but I'm definitely feelin' the track. What makes the track great though is it's entirely on the opposite field of anything else he's made this year ie Nelly Furtado and Timberlake.

Now there was a rumor that Timbo was also doing a track called "L.A. Zoo" well if you listen to this track especially at the beginning you'll hear Snoop say "....take us to the LA Zoo...." So I wonder if this track was just renamed. Hopefully though I'm wrong and the "LA Zoo" track will surface somewhere soon.

Jay Z's album also leaked with no Timbo makin' the cut. Big ups to my man Bigmac for droppin' it first!

Timbaland's new single: "Give It To Me"

Timbaland's first single off his album The Thomas Crown Affair will be "Give It To Me" and features Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake.

I'm tellin' you folks, you heard it first here on The Chronicles. Look out for this track soon! It's gonna blow your mind. Remember Tim's the producer and the rest are piano men.

Virginia Williams 'Without U"

Sebastian has done it again! He gives us a new Timbo track off his myspace.

The track is called "Without U" by Virginia.

Yes this is Virginia Williams who sang on Tim & Magoo's "3:30 In The Morning"

Czar's Sample of the Week

It's another week and with that comes another sample gem by our resident expert Czar. The dude is a legend and honestly I have NO idea how he figures these samples out because most of them are not listed in the liner notes. This week Czar gives us the Kiley Dean track "Kiss Me Like That" Did I know Timbo used a sample? Nope I figured he just had a guitar player in the studio.

The track actually samples the Allison Krauss & Union Station's "Crazy Faith". Tim was going through his whole bluegrass/country phase with both the Kiley Simple Girl and Bubba Sparxxx Deliverance album so it's fitting he used this sample. Take a listen...

So there you have it another sample mystery solved by Czar the great! Does anyone have any requests about certain Timbo track samples? Just ask Czar or myself and we'll try our best to get you the answers. I'm just waiting for Czar to blow my mind with the Brandy "Nodding Off" sample or something.

Everyone say an extra prayer for my friend and his family this week they deserve it.

Timbaland and Scott Storch

As you all know Scott Storch and Timbaland have worked on many tracks together. Most notably:

Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" and "(And She Said) Take Me Now"
Bubba Sparxxx's "Lovely" "Bubba Talk" and "Get Right"
Ms Jade "She's A Gangsta" and "Feel The Girl"
Truth Hurts "Real"
Limp Bizkit "Take A Look Around" (Remix) and "Rearranged" (Remix)

The track in question today is Heather Hunter's "Would You Like" aka Bubba Sparxxx's "Tasty". This track was thought to be produced by Timbaland especially since he can be heard on the track and his artist Bubba Sparxxx is featured on the track. The track, however, is credited solely as a Scott Storch production. It sounds very similar to Fat Joe's "Lean Back" so it make sense that Storch produced it yet Timbaland's influence can definitely be heard.

So here's yet another example of a track with Timbo on it NOT produced by him. More to come on that I promise!

Timbaland & Mixtapes (Part 1)

Based on your responses last week, I decided to dedicate an entry to just Timbaland produced mixtape beats. There seems to be some confusion as to what Timbaland has produced. Different websites list Timbaland as the producer of many original mixtape beats and it all can be very confusing if you don't own the mixtape itself.

In reality he has not produced many original beats for mixtapes rather they are recycled for artists to get their shine on with that "produced by Timbaland" label. So let's look at some tracks question and get the real deal on the beats:

- First up is the Clipse's "Re-Up Anthem" off the We Got It For Cheap Vol. 1 mixtape is actually the re-used Ray J "Unbelievable" beat.
- The Clipse's "What's Up" off the We Got It For Cheap Vol. 2 mixtape is the re-used The Game "Put You On The Game" beat.
- Now it must be a popular beat because Ras Kass also used the "Put You On The Game" beat for his "I'm Phenomenal" track off the Revenge of the Spit mixtape.
- The Lady of Rage also used it for her "Put You Up On Rage" track off her from VA 2 LA mixtape. She tore this track up!!!
- The beat for Al Gator's "In Da Streetz"
off the Play Your Position Part 4: Super Size Your Hustle Dow Jones is the re-used beat from the Brandy's "Come As You Are".
- And finally though it sounds a lot like Timbo & Magoo's "To My", the only original beat from this list is Beanie Siegal's "In The Club" from the DJ Clue presents: Backstage Mixtape. It seems like people only have the Clue version but there is actually a Radio Edit of this track with no DJ. Search and you'll find it.

So there you have the mixtape "Timbaland" tracks but keep in mind this is Part I, there will be other parts in the near future so be on the watch. Does anyone have any other tracks to contribute for next time? Holla!

New Production Lists

To expand yet even more the Timbland universe I have created 2 new Timbaland production lists. There's the confirmed unreleased Timbaland production list which is a list of all Timbaland tracks that he has produced but they have not or will not be released. The second list is the uncofirmed Timbaland production list. This is a list of rumored and uncofnirmed Timbaland tracks. Both lists are VERY much subject to change and everyone's input is most appreciated. They are lists based on information gathered from fans like yourselfs.

Additions have been made to various lists that include:

Diddy F/ Keri Hilson "After Love" (Alternate Version)
Gina Thompson "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" (Alternate Version snippet) -thanks E!
Nelly Furtado "All Good Things" (Video Version)

Anyone got something to add? HOLLA!

Timbaland working with Duran Duran

In case you didn't hear:

****"This is the best thing that could have happened to us. It relights your fire, baby." So says Duran Duran lead singer Simon Le Bon, speaking of what he describes as a renaissance for the 70-million-plus record-selling group, now that they're in the studio working with hip-hop producer Timbaland. He reveals they've recorded three songs for their next album so far, including one with Justin Timberlake.

Timbaland, he notes, "works very quickly. We're usually slow as snails. It's quite a challenge, and we had to change the way we play, really. Particularly me. I had to be able to come up with ideas very quickly on the microphone. Just do it. Have new lyrics the next day — or that evening." Le Bon says he, his groupmates, Timbaland and Timberlake are all "interested in doing more. The stuff is great! We know we have two singles already."

He describes the New York studio, where Timbaland has recorded the likes of Jay-Z, Aaliyah, Timberlake and Ludacris, as "like a Swiss chalet, but really bad, with dark varnished wood, a cuckoo clock without a pendulum and strange things like that. In an odd way, it helps make the music happen."

Duran Duran will take a break from recording to perform at the Voodoo Music Experience Oct. 28 and 29 — along with top acts including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wu Tang Clan and the Flaming Lips — returning to its old home at New Orleans City Park after having been displaced post-hurricane last year. "I'm very glad we are coming down," he notes. "We'll see for ourselves what's going on."

Le Bon also reports that his band's new musical association has "established us with a whole different group of people. We've gotten interest from will.i.am and from Gnarls Barkley as well. There's a possibility no, a probability — we'll work with them."****

Source

Sounds pretty interesting to me. Timbaland is really branching out this year into different genres of music which is only going to make his creativity grow. Looking forward to even more tracks from Timmy!
