Attitude F/ Busta Rhymes "Respect"

This track is one of the 40+ tracks Timbo, Attitude, and 6'2 recorded for their unreleased collaboration way back when. Eventually that group grew to include John Doe aka D.O.E and Ms. Keri aka Keri Hilson. It seems these tracks just randomly leak every few months but we have yet to hear one with Keri on it. Hopefully in time....

Of course you hear the lifted lines in the first verse that Timbo used it in "Bounce" some 4 years later. Don't sleep on 'Tude, dude has been ghost writing for Timbo for a very long time. You don't really think Timbo wrote his rhymes on "I'm That Real N***a" do you?

But make sure you have your Attitude tracks labeled right cuz Hannon had his part in production during this time too. Check "It's Alright It's Ok" that's all Hannon

Busta gets Timbaland for Back On My Bullshit

One of my favorite duos has always been Busta and Timbo. From his memorable cameos on a slew of Missy Intros and Outros as well as joining Misdameanor on the insane track "Get Contact" (I'm a big fan of the alternate too), Busta and Timbo have always seemed like a natural fit. With the success of Busta's last album including the sick as hell track "Get Down", the 2 have teamed up again for Busta's latest album Back On My Bullshit.

Other producers on the project include Dr. Dre, Green Lantern, Cool & Dre, Danjahandz, and Nottz. Busta also recorded with Pharrell, who provided the title for the album. "I'm calling it Back On My Bullshit for two reasons," Busta explained. "I said it on [a new song,] and it stuck in Pharrell's head. And because this album, in particular, feels like vintage Busta Rhymes, in a 2008 way. It was original and appropriately the right thing to call the project. No deep brain-science, nothing like that."

So will the track be the eagerly awaited final version of this studio session or a different track altogether?

No matter how many times I hear this track those drums are just so damn smooth. The best part of the track is that little break between minute 3:11-3:38 with all those cool sounds. Good stuff!

Unsolved Mysteries #1: Timbaland VS. Busta Rhymes

I alluded to mysteries in my last post on purpose as I'm going to try a new idea and see how well it works. The whole Chronicles team doesn't even know about this so let's see what they think. I need your help so the more participation in these mysteries the better. Let's see if you can solve it.....

Mystery:
Did Timbaland or Busta Rhymes give one another the idea to use the Night Rider sample?

Facts:
- Timbaland's "Clock Strikes (Remix)" samples the theme from Night Rider
- Busta Rhymes "Turn It Up (Remix) -Fire It Up" samples the theme from Night Rider
- Busta Rhymes When Disaster Strikes album was released in September of 1997
- Timbaland's Welcome To Our World album was released in November of 1997
- The single "Clock Strikes (Remix)" was released on April 14, 1998.
- The single "Turn It Up (Remix) - Fire It Up" was released on April 21st, 1998.
- Timbaland is credited as the producer of "Clock Strikes (Remix)"
- Busta Rhymes is credited as producer and Spliff Star as co-producer of "Turn It Up (Remix) - Fire It up"

Clues:
- Busta was featured on the Timbaland produced, Missy Elliott album Supa Dupa Fly released in July of 1997
- A friendship is assumed to be made as Busta has worked with Tim off and on over the last 10 years

Can you solve the mystery?

Sure you could consider this "old" but no matter how many times I watch it I can't get over Busta's face when he hears that beat.



Hope this tracks makes the final cut for Busta's next album cuz the beat is fire!
