Justin Bieber Talks Collaborating with Timbaland on "Believe" Album

Justin Bieber and his manager, Scooter Braun, recently sat down with Complex Magazine to discuss his upcoming album, Believe, and they discussed Bieber's recent studio time with Timbaland. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

Is it rappy? Poppy? Any experimental stuff for you?

JB: The stuff he’s blessing me with has been crazy. He’s giving us really fire stuff, crazy beats. We’re making it a great collaboration. He meshes well with a lot of great people, like he meshes well with Timberlake, Missy Elliott, Nelly Furtado. I’m hoping I’m another one that he meshes well with, because it could be really genius.

JB: His beats are crazy, and they’re not too like...

SB: I think also, he has conversations with you about music, and he asks you what you’re thinking and feeling. With everyone else, they’re just here to make tracks, and that’s not what we’re looking for. Tim is having a real conversation with him to get a feel for what he needs, and that’s why Tim is one of the best that ever did it, as a producer. And I can tell you he’s excited, because he wants to do this. It’s not a project that we asked him to do. He wanted to do it, and so did we.

JB: Yo, Tim played me some records that he and Justin did—crazy.

SB: There’s, like, a vault of them [Laughs]. I talked to Tim on the phone the other day, and I’m going to see him for the first time, because I just flew in this morning, but the thing that he said to me that I was excited about was, “He’s played me the stuff that he’s done already, and I’m just excited, because it seems like Bieber’s going for the forever record and not the kiddie shit. This album’s going to shock people.” And everyone that’s gone into the studio and heard everything that he’s done already, has come out and said, “I’m fucking so excited for this album.” And we’ll do all the cameos at the end. I will tell you this, we’re not putting out this album until all of us, as a family, can look at each other and say, “This is the best this album can possibly be.” And he and I have had these conversations. We talk about it. It’s a make-or-break.

You can read the full interview here.

Well, it looks like Tim is working on some stuff with Justin Timberlake as well (SV3? New Justin album? More FreeSol records?). What do you think of the Beiber/Timbo collab? Do you think Tim's going to push the needle of pop music like he did with Nelly Furatdo and Justin Timberlake?

Timbaland F/ Justin Timberlake & Twista "Carry Out"

Check out one of the first members of the Timbaland family, the one and only Twista, jumping on the "remix" of Timbo's latest single "Carry Out".

The beat definitely doesn't fit Twista's flow but it's always nice to hear Twista on a Timbaland beat. Hopefully we'll get more one day.

The Common Denominator

Here's some basic facts for you that explains how it works when your a producer working with an A list producer no matter how close the relationship:

Rihanna's "Rehab" Produced by Timbaland, co-produced by Hannon Lane
+
Esmée Denters "Gravity" Produced by Justin Timberlake and Hannon Lane

=Hannon Lane is the producer of both tracks

Simple really...

Remember not to believe everything you read. The liners can be wrong as we've expose many times before.

T.I. featuring Justin Timberlake "If I"

Along with the new Busta/Danja track, a lot of you have brought to our attention the new T.I. banger featuring Justin Timberlake named "If I." Numerous blogs and websites have reported this track is produced by Timbaland. Even Rolling Stone is reporting the track as Timbo. Take a listen:

share your files at box.net

BUT this is The Chronicles and sure we might not be Rolling Stone or MTV, but we still give you that exclusive news when we can.

"If I" is actually produced by none other than....*drum roll*....Rob Knox and Justin Timberlake of the Y's. Yep that's right the same duo responsible for T.I.'s other smash "Dead and Gone". Knox has been mentioned a few times here on The Chronicles and his production skills can not be denied. Dude is dope!

Who are the Y's you ask? That would be Rob Knox, Justin Timberlake, and James Fauntleroy. An insane group of talent who you will be hearing a lot more from in the coming year. Don't sleep!

I must say that Tim and Hannon did their thing on this track (along with J. Timberlake). Thoughts?

Props to backupinthis for the heads up!

New Timbaland beat or a case of the bites?

Justin Timberlake is the face for Givenchy's new fragrance Play and here he takes us behind the scenes of the photoshoot for the cologne. Take a listen to the track that plays, could that be a new Timbo beat?

Naa Boogie that's just a cheap "Sexyback" knock off. I'm with you but still though, there are a lot of Timbo elements in the track that make me go hmmm. Props to Fabian for the info.

Word Is...(Updated)

Word is Timbaland produced the track "Dead and Gone (feat. Justin Timberlake)" from T.I.'s upcoming "Paper Trail." This is unconfirmed so far, but we're working on finding out more information!

Update "Dead and Gone" is produced by Justin Timberlake and Rob Knox of the Underdogs. You remember Rob Knox right? He is the produced of Chris Brown's "Lottery" which created the biggest discussion yet we've ever had on The Chronicles.

A little more "Slow Dance"

This is The Chronicles so details are important. With that said, let's give you a few extras regarding Keri Hilson's "Slow Dance." Have you been listening carefully? There's definitely a man's voice in the harmonizing. Who could it be? Yes, of course it's Jim Beanz who helped co-write the track along with Keri and Justin Timberlake. Beanz also gave the track his magic touch helming the vocal production duties.

Definitely one of my favorite Keri tracks to date.

Rihanna's 7th single will be "Rehab" in the UK

One album, 7 singles or 8 if you count "Disturbia." Sure there were 3 new tracks with the re-realease of Good Girl Gone Bad but still 7 singles? In these digital days the music industry either releases 3 singles before an album even comes out, if it does at all, or they milk the hell out of a successful album for all it's worth. If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess and so is the case of Rihanna's album. It's still in the top 10 on the Billboard charts after 57 weeks and close to selling 1.5 million units (goes to show you how big of a feat Wayne's platinum-in-a-week album really is)

It's being reported that on August 11 the UK will be getting the Justin Timberlake written, Timbo AND Hannon produced "Rahab" by Rihanna. Will they be getting the same version as on the album? Maybe or more than likely this slightly shorter promo single edit:

Rumor Mill: Lil Wayne - "Party Control"

Wikipedia is a sheisty web site. As much as we hate to admit it, even its uncredited information tends to be correct. So that's why I'm a little less than skeptical that the Wikipedia entry for Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" says that the album includes a song called "Party Control" featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado.

Could this be the mysterious "Crowd Control", a song that was originally supposed to be on Nelly's "Loose"? The song was discussed in various interviews as a monster, even a single. However, it never made it to "Loose", as it was being saved for Justin's "FutureSex/LoveSounds." The official track list for the European version of "FutureSex/LoveSounds" included "Crowd Control", but again the song didn't make its appearance.

The mystery was supposedly solved with the release of "Give it to Me" from Tim's own "Shock Value." "Give it to Me" was assumed to be the elusive "Crowd Control" under a different name. But the appearance of "Party Control" on various unofficial "Tha Carter III" track lists still is strange.

What do you think?

Update: "Party Control" is nowhere to be found on the official "Tha Carter III" track list. Wikipedia is shady!
