Tweet goes on her own

We reported that the collabo was going to happen, Tweet even said it herself but unfortunately it is not to be. Finally with the possibility of new Tweet and Timbo or at least new Tweet and Missy, Tweet recently confirmed that she will not be working with either on her new album Love, Tweet which is due for release in May:

****So what happened to Tweet after "Turn Da Lights Off?"

Tweet: The business side of the industry took a toll on me. It didn't go the way I wanted it to go. "Turn Da Lights Off" came out, and then there was no push from the label because of a merger. I went from Elektra Records to Atlantic. What the people there promised never came about. I compromised and changed my album, taking my songs off and putting the songs that they wanted on there, which meant more hip-hop sounding songs. Once I did my part, and they never did what they said their part would be, I got discouraged and really didn't want to do it anymore.

Do you still maintain relationships with Missy and Timbaland?

Tweet: They're strong relationships, but this time I wanted to do it on my own. Missy has done so much. Tim has done so much. I've decided to step out on my own and be that businesswoman. They've called and asked if I need anything, but I really just want to do it on my own.****

Tweet enlists Missy Elliott & Timbaland

Yes it's true, Tweet recently confirmed in an interview with DJ Booth that she's looking to both Missy and Tim for some final heat for her album Love, Tweet.

****DJ booth: You mentioned you were at the Hip Hop Honors last month, featuring Missy Elliot. What is the greatest contribution Missy made to your career?

Tweet: Callin’ me on that day! [laughter] I didn’t know what I was gonna do with myself. Other than that, the greatest contribution is just being a friend and being there prior to my career, just introducing me to the world.

DJ Booth: Despite not recording under the umbrella that is Elektra/Atlantic – no pun intended – now with Umbrella Records, will you still be working with Missy?

Tweet: Yeah, of course. I’m looking to record my final songs and from Missy as well as Tim[berland], and we just haven’t had a chance to hook up. She has some real fire for me, so I know it’s comin’ soon.****

If you haven't already stop by her myspace page and her fan page to show support. Let's really hope these tracks make the final cut. Props to Big A on the find.

Tweet talks new album

During the VH1 Honors Tweet talked with Spinderella (from Salt N Peppa) about her 12 track new album called Love, Tweet Take a look:

Tweet and the new album

Her first single is called "My Dear" featuring T.I. which is a remake of the unreleased Ciara f/ T.I. track "Goodbye, My Dear". Tweet did say it was a song that her fans wouldn't expect from her. Though I think it's a bad choice of a first single, I do like it a lot more than the Ciara version.

Other new tracks to date from Tweet have been:
- See Ya
- Whisper
- Give It To Ya

as well as:
- Reasons
- Love ??
- Priceless
- Love Again

from her myspace.

No producers have been officially announced though I'm positive you will see longtime Tweet producers (and Missy and Timbaland collaborators) Craig Brockman and Nisan Stewart part of the project. Let's hope Tim can contribute one or two tracks to the new album as well.

Tweet is back!

What better way to follow up our Tweet samples of the week Tweet then to let you all know Tweet is back. She has a myspace and 2 new tracks "Whisper" and "See Ya". Both songs are the soft on the senses with amazing harmonies smooth tracks we have grown to love from her.

In my opinion Tweet's music is timeless. Southern Hummingbird was a classic and It's Me Again was one of the most slept on albums ever created. I'm hoping a 3rd album is in the works.

Go show this woman some love!!
