As technology becomes more and more advanced, information is literally a click away and everyone and anyone can make a demo or a "Timbaland beat." Case in point, out of the blue last year came the long awaited unreleased Timbaland produced track "Make It Pop." Not only was it the song, it was the demo sung by the track writer Candice Nelson. Or was it? Take a listen:
For those of us that know Candice's voice, we knew this wasn't her but who else was it? A Candice written track, sung by someone else? Never happened before so why now?
Well The Chronicles being who we are, we did our digging and as it turns out we can tell you exclusively that the track is not only some other singer besides Candice singing but it's not even Timbaland on the beat. Yes that's right not Timbo! So either there was another "Make It Pop" created for J Lo (or a different artist) or we've yet another case of a completely mislabeled track.
Another mystery (or unanswered question) solved!

T.I. Goes Back In The Studio With Timbaland
T.I.'s highly antcipated new album The King Uncaged comes out later this summer and although he's recorded "85-90" songs (!!!) he's still not done, planning to get in the studio with Swizz Beats and Timbo. Seems we're gonna get even more T.I. and Timbo!!
Candice Nelson Demos over Danja
When Candice writes a song for an artist 9 times out of 10 she also does the demo. She did it when writing with Walter Milsap and she did it with The Clutch. From Brandy's "Nodding Off" to Mary J Blige's "Take Me As I Am" to so many more, the Candice demo does exist. One thing that has not been heard is Candice singing over a Danja beat...that is until now. Check out these 2 demos Candice did with Danja on production.
"Echo" obviously the demo for Ciara's "Echo":
and "That I Am" that we also can confirm is a demo for an unreleased Cici track. Candice rappin' too!
Big props to The Keepers!

T.I. "Here We Go Again" (Alternate)
Let's try this again...
No matter how many years go by, a dope Timbaland track is ALWAYS worth the wait. Just check the Lil' Mo "5 Minutes" and Aaliyah "One In A Million" Timbaland Remixes for proof. Thankfully for this track we didn't have to wait years for it, rather here is the non DJ version of T.I.'s "Here We Go Again" for your listening pleasure:
Dear Timbaland, please make more songs like this. The pop stuff was cool and all but it's time to get back to makin' Timbo The King music! Your friend, Boogie.
This track is actually an alternate from the original track for a few reasons, can you name them?
Big big props to Sebastien for the track!

Timbaland F/ Tyson Ritter "I'm In Love With You"
Check out a leftover track from Timbaland's Shock Value II featuring Tyson Ritter from The All-American Rejects called "I'm In Love With You":
Solid track but nothing mind blowing. The track will be included on the long rumored "rerelease" of Shock Value II which is actually just a album of all the singles under the crafty name of Shock Value II: The Singles. Thoughts on the track? Wait are you all still awake? ;)
Big props to Roo!
The Making of Drake and Timbaland's "Thank Me Now"
There's nothing I love more (besides a sample) then knowing the behind the scenes of track creation. Case in point, check out Noah "40" Shebib's, the track engineer, account of Drake's Timbo produced "Thank Me Now":
Noah "40" Shebib [Engineer]: "[That was] The Setai hotel, the same time we did 'Over.' We did 'Over' one day and 'Thank Me Now' another. If I’m not mistaken, we cut the record and then Tim came to the session. It was me, Jazz, Drake, Niko, James the security, CJ the road manager—so yeah, the usual Drake entourage. Tim came with his manager or one of his people. I think it was pretty much cut, and actually we gave it back to Tim. I didn’t mix 'Thank Me Now' either. We gave it back to Tim, after we cut the vocals and his engineer Chris, finished the production, tweaked it a little bit, and finished the mix. [He added] very subtle production just to give it some life towards the end."
Props to Sebastian!
Tyrese and Danja
The latest episode of Brandy's A Family Business had Brandy in the studio with Danja and Marcella (clip forthcoming) and it also showed Brandy sitting down with Tyrese to talk about his feelings on the "mixtapes" of today's artists as well as sharing he was recently in the studio with Akon and Danja himself. Take a look:
New Nelly and Timbaland?
We told you about Nelly's collabo with Timbaland awhile ago. So with that in mind, take a listen to this brand new Nelly track, and his new album's first single, that he debuted at Dillo Day at Northwestern University called "Tippin' In The Club":
Did you hear it? Take a listen again....2nd verse "Timbo on my right".
Though we can't 100% confirm the track is Timbaland, it seems with that kind of shout out it should be him. However, Nelly recently talked with Rap-Up and made no mention of Timbo regarding the single or being a collaborator.
So what do you think: Timbaland on the beat or not?
Props to Wamya!

Drake's "Thank Me Now" Produced by Timbaland and...
So with that "new sound" Timbaland has been talking about recently all over Drake's banger "Thank Me Now" who do you think worked with Timbo to create it for the track? Jim Beanz? J Roc? Maybe even Hannon? Well much to my surprise (and excitement) turns out Timbaland produced "Thank Me Now" with none other than......
Timbaland!
Yep that's right the track is solely produced by Timbaland with all instruments by Tim as well. When's the last time that happened? Snoop Dogg's "Get A Light"? Is solo Timbaland back? Let's hope so cuz if he release an entire album of beats like this I'd be more than happy.
Props to Big A!

Timbaland Loves Amar's Album Too
Amar continues her success as her album Show It Off just gets bigger and bigger. She's gone from "Bombay" to "Bombay Billionaire" in not time yet always stays humble and generous to all her fans. Recently she talked with Desi Hits on her music, Timbo's love for her album, and her plans for the future. Read on:
DH!: Have you heard any responses from any other artists you look up to?
Amar: From the western field, Timbaland absolutely loves the album. He lost his iPod a few weeks ago and apparently one of the first things he said was 'I need Amar's album again.' So the response I'm getting is amazing. We just need to get it out there and hope people are listening to it.
DH!: So what's next for you, aside from promoting, are you still writing?
Amar: I'm actually recording more music this week with Charlie Hype; he did a lot of tracks for the album so were doing more recording. We're thinking in literally a month or so to release a new track.
DH!: So who has influenced you besides your father?
Amar: I've always loved and grown up with Timbaland in terms of production; I listened to a lot of his artists, like Justin Timberlake. I've always wanted to work with him and his people. I had a list of people on the Indian side that I really wanted to work with as well like Sonu and Shankar Mahadevan. I was lucky enough to get everyone on my album.

Big big congrats to Amar!
Coming Soon.....Keri Hilson's Sophmore Album

Kevin Rudolf Releases 2nd Album To The Sky
The Chronicles had the good fortunate of interviewing Kevin Rudolf right before he blew up with his hit "Let It Rock" off his debut album In The City which sold over 3 million copies. Now Rudolf is back with his latest album To The Sky and his firs single "I Made It" along with writing and producing for the likes of Leona Lewis, Lifehouse, and Cobra Starship.
Check out these 2 recent interviews where Kevin touches on his time working with Timbo.
The first single is called “I Made It.” When did you know you’d made it?
I think that making it is something that you do in stages. There’s a certain feeling of ‘I made it’ when you have a hit on the radio for the first time and people are feeling it and buying it and reacting to it at shows. But I’ve also set new goals since then too for myself so it’s like, I think the ‘I Made It’ feeling is something you get as you achieve new goals.
After Binocular ended, you started working with Timbaland. What’s the most important thing he taught you?
You have to go with your gut, you have to work quickly and you have to be the best at what you do. I loved the way he put his drums together and made tracks. He’s a genius at that so I would just watch and soak it up like a sponge…If it’s not working right away, don’t keep going with it. He does a lot of records, he does them very quickly. That’s what I do to. If it’s not magic, go back to the drawing board.
Full Interview
And another:
BIG congrats to Kevin Rudolf and his success!

More News On TVXQ and Timbaland
We already told you about the Korean trio TVXQ working with Timbaland. Now straight from producer, writer, label CEO, and all around music legend Jae Chong we have confirmation:
Been writing songs for a Korean group DBSK (or better known as TVXQ in Japan)…They’ve been the best selling group in Asia basically crushing everyone’s sales…They actually make up for 40% of all revenues made by Avex Japan…That’s HUGE!!! Too bad my old group SOLID sold 4 times more than them tho…hahaha! But of course…different generation…^^ Anyways, this is sort of “top secret” but I guess what better place to talk about “top secret” projects than a public blog like this one? haha…Basically, DBSK used belong to SM Entertainment in Korea…For those of you who don’t know what that is…It’s basically one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea…Anyways, 3 of the 5 members recently defaulted and sued SM Entertainment for “slavery” contracts (I can explain about that…but that will take 10 pages…). So 3 of them are releasing a new album under a their own company…and me (aka “yours truly”) got involved…Basically, it’s a huge collaboration project featuring the 3 guys from DBSK and the biggest A listers in the US…as of now…being Kanye West and Timbaland…To make the long story short…we’re working on the album as I type…and will fly to Hawaii to record at Kanye’s house…and then possibly go to LA or Miami to record with Timbaland…
This is by far THE biggest budget project EVER in Asia…PERIOD! And the reason for the secrecy besides the obvious media frenzy it will cause…is because SM Entertainment is PISSED OFF about them leaving…and I don’t wanna step on anyone’s toes…but as usual…Oh well…It is what it is…
Biggest project EVER in Asia?! Daaamn Timbo!
Fun Fact: The Fray Never Met Timbaland
Ahh technology isn't it great?! You don't even have to meet someone to collabortae with them. Such is the case with The Fray and there collabo with Timbaland on for Shock Value II. The band sent in a demo, Timbo liked what he heard, emails were sent, phone calls were made, and voilĆ ! "Under Tow" was created.
In fact even after the track was finished, Timmy never asked that band if they liked what he did with it. I guess you don't need to when you're Timbo the King. Thankfully though the band was just fine with it.
Timbaland Gives Nas His Biggest Record So Says Ginuwine
In a recent interview with Vibe Magazine Ginuwine spoke on being the best dancer in the game, his current career "sabotoge", and being on one of Nas' biggest records, check it out:
Nas caught a lot of flack for your collaboration, “You Owe Me,” on Nastradamus. Jay-Z questioned his artistic integrity (on 2002's "Blueprint 2"), and some hardcore fans considered him a sellout. What are your feelings on the song?
I think you can be versatile. You don’t have to stay on one thing all the time. People have fun and they experiment and that’s what he might’ve been doing. And everyone wants to appeal to the masses; you want your voice to be heard. With him and what he stands for, if he reached millions of other people, he could change those millions of other people. So you don’t want to just keep yourself in a box, you want to get out there and experiment and do whatever it is that’s going to make you huge. And that’s song was probably one of the biggest songs of his career. People still give me love when I do it on my shows. So I think it’s healthy for someone to go out and experiment. You can’t stay the same all the time. You get bored.
Let’s look back for a second. Do you still keep in touch with Missy?
Every so often. I’ll page her and be like, “What’s up, baby? How are you?” She’ll say, “Hey, what’s up, I’m cool.” And that’s it. But hanging out, nah. I don’t really hang out with no one anyway. But she’s still doing her thing. I think she’s working on something right now. She does a lot of production and writing, like she always has. But she actually was on my last CD with me. We did a song called “Get Involved” and we did David Letterman together, so whenever I need her she’s definitely there for me. And vice versa.
G has definitely been getting a lot of press lately. Let's hope his new album comes with the heat especially executive produced by B Cox!

Video: Travis McCoy "The Manual" F/ T-Pain & Young Cash
Check out the video for the Hannon Lane produced "The Manual" by Travis McCoy:
Dope track! Congrats to Hannon.
Keri Hilson "Hold Your Breath"
Here's what I hope is a left over from Keri's last album or maybe even Shock Value II, the very boring "Hold Your Breath":
Boring beat, nothing exciting with the vocals, and are people still even using auto-tune? YAWN! Even without the DJ drops this song is definitely skippable.

Timbaland Gets "Loud" with....
Check out this newly leaked track called "Loud" (or possibly
"Allowed") produced by Timbaland for an artist I'm not quite sure of (yet):
Despite the obvious Timbaland backgrounds I still wasn't convinced but the "Scream" reference definitely was the clincher. Any guesses who's singing? I'm sure by morning we'll know.
Until then enjoy!

Timbaland Sound Is "Organic"
Read what Timbaland recently told the Daily Star:
"I feel like everybody's now doing what I did on 'The Way I Are'. I started it and they followed, so I felt I had to come up with a new style, and I think I've got it. I call it organic.
I'm making music the way I would have done before modern equipment and music recording."
I'm sure that Tim never thought the day when he could actually record kazoos and pencils on paper cups in high quality to use in his witch's brew of dope beats.
BUT
If Tim is referring to some "new style" since Shock Value with Shock Value II being the example of it, I'm just not feeling it or really getting it for that matter. Hopefully though he's talking about the "new" sound of Drake's "Thank Me Now" which for Tim is definitely very different and in my opinion very welcome. Let's hear what's next!
Your thoughts?
Aaliyah in "The Mim Rose"
Check out this never before seen clip of Aaliyah in one of her brother Rashad's movie:

Michelle Branch "Getaway" & Behind The Scenes
We heard the news, we knew when it was coming (today), some of us were excited about the collabo, and now we have it. Check out a track you would definitely skip when it comes on your iTunes, Michelle Branch's "Getaway":
and how did they make this video you ask? Like this:
"grudgy, hard beats"....cool commercial song though.
Your thoughts?
TVXQ Working With Timbaland....Wait Who?
TVXQ. Boy Band. Korea. Timbaland?
Those aren't 4 words that you would necessarily see together but according to Korean media it's happening. Three members of the boy band TVXQ (formerly Tohoshinki in Japan) will be working with Korean composer Kim Hyung Suk and none other than Timbaland. Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun, and Youngwoong Jaejoong say they want to continue to target Asia where they have become widely popular. They have gone through some legal battles with their former agency they were signed to but it seems the courts ruled in their favor and they are free to pursue other options including flying to the U.S. this month to work on their album.
Let's see what happens!
Ginuwine Still Got Love For Timbaland
G sat down with Honey Mag and shared his latest and perhaps final thoughts on the Timbo situation:
I don’t like feeling like a cry baby. I’m not gonna hound on it or keep saying anything about it because ultimately he is a great producer and [he] helped me start my career and that can never get taken away, but I wish what we had set out to do – that we had completed it.
The business kind of separates you. You know I’m not gonna chase anybody but you’d like to think if you need somebody, they’d [be] there. And if you need me, I’m definitely here. I’m just the same old G.
Hopefully Tim feels the same way. Just get back to making good music ya'll!
VH1 Hip Hop Honors Got Love for Timbaland
Timbo was recognized tonight as part of The Dirty South Movement on VH1's Hip Hop Honors. Performances include: Bun B on "Big Pimpin'", Fabolous performing "Make Me Better" , Keri, D.O.E, and Sebastian performing "The Way I Are" and closing with Missy E doing "Get Your Freak On" and "Work It.". Check back with this post as we update with news, photos, and hopefully a video of the performances.
Check out the performances:
What do you think? Were the performances worthy of honoring Timbo?
Props to Edwin on the link!

Missy Elliott F/ Destiny's Child "Crazy Feelings"
You read it right, I said Missy Elliott F/ Destiny's Child "Crazy Feelings" (not just Beyonce). Check out this really dope alternate and more than likely demo for Missy Elliott's "Crazy Feelings":
How cool is that!? I had to listen to the track a bunch of times to make sure it wasn't just some fan made track that spliced a bunch of riffs from the various girls throughout. The beat is slightly different and you can clearly hear now the guitar sample. Check out the chorus of the 2nd verse with Michelle doin' her thing (at least I think that's Michelle lol). There's almost to many voices going on at once. You even hear some laughter proof that it was all fun on this dope track.
HUGE props to Mosleyrn8 for the find.
Add this to your lists!

Malice Talks Timbaland
Check out this interview Complex magazine did with Malice of The Clipse talking about his high school friend DJ Timmy T:
On first meeting Timbaland…
Me, Pharrell, and Timbaland are all the same age and we went to the same school. We never had classes together, but we always kicked it in the lounge area and what was called the Commons. Back then, this was like ’88-‘89, I was in this group called Def Dual Productions, DDP. It was dual, as in two people. So the gist of it was that everybody had a partner. It was huge. We were on the news for being troublemakers. You know, that juvenile trouble. We were always fighting, stealing cars, just stuff you ain’t had no business doing. Just doing dumb shit. It was really crazy.
On Timbaland blowing up…
It was good for us and it was good for everybody in Virginia. Virginia is just one of those places. In New York you see stars and industry people every day. Virginia was kind of quiet and not too much stuff was happening at that level. So Timbaland, Missy, Teddy Riley, and Skillz were the ones everybody from here looked up to. I must say, it motivated everybody. There’s nothing like driving and you see that Mercedes Benz pull up and it’s Teddy Reilly in it, or you see that Lambo and it’s Missy in it. And you know them, they’re from where you from. That really put the battery in everybody’s ass out here in Virginia.
On why Clipse never worked with Timbaland…
It was no real reason that we didn’t work together. I don’t attribute that to anything. If anything, it was a conflict of schedule or whatever. Tim’s a real businessman and he’s doing his thing. Actually, we came up closer with The Neptunes. We never said we wanted to work solely with The Neptunes, but that’s just kind of how it happened. But you know, we don’t do too bad with The Neptunes.
On Timbaland’s signature style…
He’s cut out his niche in history. If I could sum it up in one word, it would be “innovative.” He not only raised the bar, but he sets the standard. It’s just one of those things. If Timbaland says this is dope, then most times it’s dope. He’ll do new things that are great. He’ll try something new, but it will be totally accepted and loved by everybody. To me, that’s what he’s known for. Some people will do something new, but people be like, “That’s too far out there” or “He was reaching.” But Tim is always in pocket. Trendsetter, man.
Complex Names The Top 25 Timbaland Songs
In honor of Timbaland and his induction into the VHI Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Complex Magazine gave it's top 25 Timbaland tracks of all time. They are:

No Missy "Wake Up"? No Bubba "Take A Load Off"? No Brandy at all? No Mocha?
Of course no one's top 25 list everyone is going to agree with but this list should be titled the top 25 commercial singles produced by Timbaland. Makes me wonder if the writers for Complex have listened to anything else by him.
What's your top 25? Ok top 5?
Video: One Republic "Marching On" (Timbaland Remix)
Check out the video of one of the most boring remixes Timbaland has ever done. Of course it has to be a One Republic song right? Yeah it's "Marching On":
Basically it's just an alternate (no Timbo) of the already "remixed" track from the group on Shock Value II.
It's been said that "Marching On" will be the official World Cup song for Germany BUT it's not known which version will be chosen, the original, the remix, or more than likely the above track. Let Ryan tell you:
Sorry Big A!

Drake "Thank Me Now"
After a very long wait, here is the long awaited collaboration between Drake and Timbaland called "Thank Me Now." Check it out:
Wow I never thought I'd hear Timbo do a beat like this. Personally, I love it! VERY different from Tim with the randomly, layered synths at various pitches. Drake's voice gets annoying by the end but it's a dope hook. I'll be interested how the masses respond to the track.
The sound is very similar to a lot of the new "electric soul " artist out there. (Check my personal favorite Muhsinah)
Your thoughts?
