Timbaland Sound Is "Organic"

Read what Timbaland recently told the Daily Star:

"I feel like everybody's now doing what I did on 'The Way I Are'. I started it and they followed, so I felt I had to come up with a new style, and I think I've got it. I call it organic.

I'm making music the way I would have done before modern equipment and music recording."

I'm sure that Tim never thought the day when he could actually record kazoos and pencils on paper cups in high quality to use in his witch's brew of dope beats.

BUT

If Tim is referring to some "new style" since Shock Value with Shock Value II being the example of it, I'm just not feeling it or really getting it for that matter. Hopefully though he's talking about the "new" sound of Drake's "Thank Me Now" which for Tim is definitely very different and in my opinion very welcome. Let's hear what's next!

Your thoughts?

  1. Here's what Timbo MEANT to say:

"I feel like everybody's now doing what Danja did on 'The Way I Are'. He started it and I followed, so I felt I had to come up with a new style, and I think I've got it. I call it Mediocre."

  2. LOL @ Bassick.

I actually was surprised by Thank Me Now. The beat isn't as "theatrical" as Tim's usual stuff. Now I dunno if that's indicative of him running out of ideas or just going into a different lane.

I'd like to see him sharpen this kinda style...it'd be seamless with so many different artists.
