Nick here. So here's something for the liner notes readers: What is Danja's legal name? He's been credited as Nate Hall, Nathanial Hills, Nathaniel Hill, Floyd Hall, Nate Philip Hills, etc. What the hell is his real name?
Anyways, congrats to Danja for bringing home two Grammys for his work with Justin Timberlake. As far as news goes, here's an interesting something I picked up in a recent MTV article:
"Meanwhile, VA Beach's Nate "Danja" Hill arguably became the breakthrough producer of last year by being Timbaland's co-pilot on Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds and Nelly Furtado's Loose. Not to mention Danja solo-production turns for the aforementioned Snoop, Fantasia, DJ Khaled and fellow VA native Trey Songz."
Snoop? What did Danja solo-produce for Snoop? Maybe it's just a misunderstanding...
I'm trying to collect a list of Danja's unreleased work that we've yet to hear. Three of his tracks didn't make Katharine McPhee's latest, he might've worked on "Kingdom Come", etc. Comment if you've got anything else to add!

Timbo is "Man of the Week"
Tim has been voted "Man of the Week" on Askmen.com Tim gets the breakdown: his personailty rank, woman magnetism, coolness factor, personal style, etc. etc. Go cast your vote and check out the Article.
Dude started out in the high 70s as an overral rating but now he's down to a 63 so go vote haha and get his rank up. He got pics up there too and some cool overrall info. Check the trivia quesition, it's a hard one!
Rhianna & Timbo
Seems like everyone is trying to get a piece of Timmy. Check the MTV article:
****At 19 (as of last week), Rihanna knows she still has a lot to learn. And that's exactly why she loves working with her "Unfaithful" collaborator Ne-Yo.
"He is such a genius," the Barbados-born beauty said recently. "I've never had vocal training, so when I'm in the studio, he'll tell me how to breathe and stuff. And I'm like, 'What?' Like he'll call out these big fancy words: 'OK, I want you to do staccato.' And I'm like, 'OK, I don't know what that is.' "
After working together on A Girl Like Me, Rihanna spent the week of the Grammys writing songs for the follow-up with Ne-Yo. "I read through the lyrics, and I'm like, 'What are you thinking? What is going through your head?' " Rihanna recalled. "I just have to stop sometimes and be like, 'Ne-Yo, OK, tell me why you wrote this song.' Because I don't understand how he comes up with certain concepts and he just blows me away sometimes. He's just insane."
Rihanna has also worked with Stargate (Beyoncé) and Evan and Carl (Kelly Clarkson), who first discovered her, as well as hitmaker Sean Garrett. "He is crazy with the melodies," Rihanna said. "I can't keep up sometimes. He will fit five words into one second and you're supposed to get it all pronounced. And I'm like, 'OK Sean, we can't do that.' He's crazy."
Rihanna also has studio time booked with Timbaland and Will.I.Am and is hoping to reel in Polow Da Don (Pussycat Dolls) and Andre 3000. "His style is so amazing to me," she said of the latter. So far, the new music is going in a different direction for Rihanna. "Not on purpose," she said, "but I just want to hear something fresh."
Fresh and mostly uptempo. "I think that's where I want to go on this one," she said. "You feel different every album, and [at] this stage I feel like I want to do a lot of uptempo [songs]." I want to keep people dancing but still be soulful at the same time." Rihanna is recording most of the album in Los Angeles, where she is also taking acting classes. "Movies is definitely something that I'd love to do," she said. "I love movies like 'The Matrix' and 'Underworld.' I'm a crazy person."*****
I'm not the biggest fan of Rhinna I'll admit, but I'd still be into hearing her vocals over a nice stuttering slow jam from Tim.

Check your newstands March 3rd for the article and you know The Chronicles will be bringing it to you as soon as we can. Props to Timbalandchick for the info!

Storch Fires Back
So Scott Storch decided to come back and Timbo. I guess he went in the lab and came up with a "gangsta" beat and had some unknown dude jump on it. Track is called Built Like Dat F/ Nox.
I can't really comment on the track cuz what can you say about it really? "You're not gangsta" as part of the chorus? A pack of frank neck jokes? "We know you didn't do 'Icebox'"? That's the best that Storch can come up with? Hopefully the embarassment stops with this track and we can move on from the "beef"
What ya'll think?
Video: "Give It To Me"
Here it is folks the "Give It To Me" video:
Now as hard as it is I'm going to keep my opinions about this video to myself. All I can say is you have 2 of the biggest artists of '06 and '07 (so far) on 1 track along with one of the top producers in the game and this is the video chosen for one bad ass first single?
Anyhow what ya'll think? You feelin' it?

Tim wants to work with Ginuwine again
Check out this new article from Billboard:
****Producer Timbaland told Billboard in a 2001 interview that he'd never make a solo album as an artist. But that's exactly what will arrive March 27 in the form of "Shock Value," which, as previously reported, features such high-profile collaborators as Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Elton John and Fall Out Boy.
"I had some of this album in mind before I hit with Justin and Nelly," he tells Billboard. "But Justin solidified it for me. He said I needed to do something for myself. I've never been this anticipated in my whole life when it comes to my own record. It's like a Jay-Z, Kanye West or Young Jeezy. But I'd really rather people like me as an entertainer versus an artist. I just like to entertain." Timbaland describes "Shock Value" as "taking you through different emotions. It flows like a movie with different parts: horror, comedy and drama. My mission is to blow up boundaries, taking my music outside the box. It will shock the system."
Before roaring back to the top of the charts in 2006, Timbaland admits he was embittered by a period of time when the industry was indifferent to his ever-evolving sound. "I knew I wanted to do something different musically," he says. I got criticized for that. Labels wouldn't give me a shot. They were saying, 'He's lost it; he's over.' That's why I'm talking so cocky now. I got tired of people smiling in my face and then talking behind my back."
Next up on Timbaland's production docket are "Eve, M.I.A., Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Missy Elliott and Madonna," he says. "Missy and I still talk. She's like a sister to me and I'm with her till death do us part. I haven't gone into the studio yet with Madonna. I need to call someone now to talk about that further."
Asked who he'd like to work with that would surprise people, Timbaland replies, "the Rolling Stones because they make classic records, and I need one of those classic, Titanic records. I also want to work with Sade. And for personal reasons I'd like to work again with Ginuwine."****
Short but sweet. Still hoping for that Missy/Timbo duo again! Props to Big A for the link.

Czar's Sample of the Week
What's up Tim stans? It's Friday again, and that means it's time for Czar's Sample of the Week. Now I've been thinking all week on what to choose for this week's sample, and I remembered that it had been a while since I showcased an Aaliyah sample.
For me, there are only a few songs by Tim that once I find the sample, I say to myself "Damn, Tim did his thing when he sampled this track." I said that when I heard the Monkees' track "Valleri," which was the sample for last week. I just loved the way he sampled that track for G's "What's so Different." Now, I went crazy when I heard the way Tim sampled Minnie Riperton's "Inside My Love" for Aaliyah's "Heatbroken." A lot of artists in hip-hop and r&b have sampled "Inside My Love" (Nas, Freeway, Busta) but I honestly believe that few have flipped the track like Tim flipped it. For those who can't hear the sample, go to about 3:08. If you still don't hear, then just imagine that high pitched voice and the keyboard in slow motion. That's what Tim did to the track. He slowed down the track and pitched it to create this amazing song off a classic album in "One in a Million." This is honestly one of my favorite Tim samples!
I hope everyone has enjoyed this sample as much as I did when I heard it. Check back next week for another installment of Czar's Sample of the Week.
Peace,
Czar

MTV My Block: VA
In case you haven't had a chance to check it out, here's the show:
You know in all the years since, I can't really rememeber a time Tim expressed how he felt after Aaliyah passed. I can only imagine how hard that would be to lose your muse. Tim and Aaliyah sure did make beautiful music together.
I really hope Missy and Tim can get back in the studio and cook up some crazy 3000 ish. They both need each other as much as we need them for music. 2008 let's hope for a new Missy album.
Great show for real! Props to Alex, Greg, and Timbochick for all the links.

New Redman Mixtape
Supposedly the first single off his new album. Check out the Timbaland produced track "Put It Down."
Look out for Redman's new album Red Gone Wild on March 27th. (Uh oh some competition)
Czar's Sample of the Week
Happy Friday! Another Friday brings us to another installment of Czar's Samples of the Week. Now I started off the year by saying that I would showcase more Ginuwine samples, and I'm keeping my word with this week's sample.
Every Tim stan knows Ginuwine's "What'so Different" from his sophomore album, 100% Ginuwine. The beat switch, the Godzilla roar, the whole track is just amazing. Well, what some don't know is that the main beat samples The Monkee's "Valleri" off their 1968 album, "The Birds, the Bees, and the Monkees." Tim just took the beginning of the track, and created a masterpiece. I love what Tim did to this sample! What do y'all think?
Sadly, that's it for this week's Czar's Sample of the Week. I'll be out next Friday, but I'm going ot make sure that the Friday tradition of Czar's Samples of the Week will continue.
Peace,
Czar

Timbo on Z100
Here's another radio interview with Tim on Z100.
His favorite track is the one with the Hives? Hmmm I guess we have to wait till the CDQ comes out cuz I couldn't really hear all the goodies in the beat from the other radio interview.
Rascal Flatts and Timbo? I don't know about that one but Alison Krauss and Timbo? Wow now that would be amazing! She has such a dope voice and pair that with a Timbo beat and you got yourself a hit.
So LL in a round about way is responsible for Tim's cockiness? Haha I don't think so, I'd say being the best producer is the world is the reason. Timbo the king!
BIG thanks to Claire for the link!

Shock Value News
From MTV:
Even with multiple Grammy nods, a spate of chart-topping hits and recognition as one of today's most innovative producers, Timbaland doesn't just sit back all day and wait for artists to call him.
The multiplatinum beatsmith and composer said he still finds himself picking up the phone to seek out rappers, singers and bands to work with. Thing is, those same artists are pretty much doing the same thing he's doing — they usually just aren't as fast.
"I reached out to Madonna, and she was already trying to find me," Timbaland explained on Wednesday while in town for Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds tour. "I'm like, 'She was? Hmm.' It's funny. People will reach out to me, and I guess I beat them to the punch sometimes. It's crazy to see how many people want to work with me. I'm still in shock."
The result of all those phone calls is the driving force behind the producer's next album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value, due March 27. The project features a diverse list of guest artists throughout, ranging from Jay-Z and Lil Wayne to Fall Out Boy and the Hives. ("The one with the Hives is ill," Tim boasted. "That's my record there.")
Another surprising collaboration Timbaland managed to nail down is with Sir Elton John. Even more surprising, the producer got the legendary John to solely play the piano on the track rather than sing. "He played for at least seven hours," Timbaland explained of working with John. "He was dope. You're talking about a guy ... he's done songs with Aretha Franklin. You're talking about a dude I can't keep up with. That's all I can say.
"The song I got with him, really it's just him playing," he continued. "I don't have him singing. I might have him say one little line, that's it. It's more about his art and what he does. That's what people loved him for. When 'Bennie and the Jets' came out, there really weren't any lyrics. It was more about the music. He's a musical genius."
Other standout tracks on Shock Value, according to Timbaland, include a reunion with his rhyme partner Magoo and the album intro, featuring a Nina Simone sample. "I ain't gonna put too much out on it, it might scare the people," he said of the opener.
While Tim noted the scope of the artists he's worked with and his interest in multiple genres of music, he also admitted that a lot of times he really has no clue who some artists are when they approach him.
"When I go to a lot of award shows in Europe, [it seems like] everybody wants to work with me," Timbaland said, laughing. "And I'll be like, 'Huh? What?' "A European musician Tim is familiar with is, however, is the Finnish producer who accused him of stealing a beat. (Timbaland called the accusation "foolish."
"It makes me laugh," he said. "The part I don't understand, the dude is trying to act like I went to his house and took it from his computer. I don't know him from a can of paint. I'm 15 years deep. That's how you attack a king? You attack moi? Come on, man. You got to come correct. You the laughing stock. People are like, 'You can't be serious.' "
Big thanks to PeopleLikeMyself for the link!

Cali Stylz Interview!
Well I told ya'll about our new member Nick and the dude is NOT playin'. He is the official Danja expert in my book and dude knows his music for sure. Well straight out the gate on his first post Nick is bringing the HEAT!! He got a chance to interview Cali Stylz of Crown Life Entertainment! Don't know who Cali Stylz is? Well take a minute to read Nick's interview:
Cali Stylz Interview
And there you have it just a little more knowledge for ya' on the one they call Cali Stlyz. Do NOT sleep on Nick, he plans to bust us off weekly with Danja Handz news. Nick welcome to the team!!
What ya'll think of the interview?
Timbaland leaks a new track
o here's yet another Timbaland radio interview from Elliott in the Morning but this time Tim has a few surprises for us. Check them out:
Part I
Part II
So I wonder if the Missy biopic will ever happen. It would be interesting to have all the Super Friends Crew back together for the movie.
So finally we hear Timbaland's side of the "Do It" controversy. Tim says the sample is from a video game (or so he thought) and did not steal anyone's beat. He admits to sampling but not to stealing. The dude probably has thousands upon thousands of sounds, added to that he's busy as hell so he doesn't have time to know which sound is what but he admits he did sample. Hoepfully we can all move on from this and let the lawyers work it out now.
What you all think about Tim & Trent Reznor, Tim & Metallica, Tim & Pearl Jam, and Tim & Sade? Sounds real cool to me. I think Reznor and Tim would be pure insanity!
And finally here is another single from Shock Value. The track features The Hives and is called "Throw It On Me" What do ya'll think? Hot track?
HUGE props to Bigmac for the interview links and n0t0 for the new track!
Timbaland & Coldplay
Sure we've been hearing for a long time about Tim's and Coldplay's mutual respect for one another as well their hope to one day work together but has that day finally come?
Check out the exclusive article from Entertainment Weekly about the current progress between these two.
So will it happen? Will we finally get to hear what we've been waiting for? Timbaland mentioned in that radio interview that he wanted to mix X Y and now this news. Sounds pretty promising to me. Stay tuned it should be really interesting, I know my ears are excited!
Big thanks to Ronde at Entertainment Weekly for the story!

Timbaland On MTV Canda
Timbaland is EVERYWHERE these days! Check him out on MTV Canda:
Part I
Part II
Wait did I hear that right? [On Bjork] "I did most of the songs on her album" DAMN!! Now there you have it straight from the man himself. Bjork and Tim confirmed!
Alright so we got another track name "A Beat Inspires" with Fallout Boy off Shock Value. Dre and Jay Z also confirmed on the album. 3 employees on MMG? Man he needs a few more for real! Great interview and cool to see Tim doin' interviews and getting himself out there.
Dude is BLOWIN' UP! March 27th everyone......t's a good day to be a Timbaland fan.
HUGE THANKS to MTV Canada for sending me this video!
New Polow Article
Check out the new article in this month's Ozone mag. The scans aren't the best but still it's a good read. He mentions Tim in a few places. Check it:
Source
Source
A lof of people have e-mailed me and asked about the connection between Polow and Tim. I can honestly say I don't know exactly. From what I've heard, Jim Crow was looking to work with Tim and that's how Polow met Tim. I also know that Polow was part of the making of Bubba's Deliverence album. Polow was also featured on the Mudd Katz "Put It On Me" and remixed Bubba's "Back In Da Mudd" (Zone 4 Remix) .
There has also been a lot of speculation about Will Smith's "Partystarter" with people saying it was a Tim beat sold to Ludacris who then sold it to Polow (hence why Luda gets co-writing credits though he doesn't rap on the track) but no one can say for sure. There is also speculation about the Medina "Number Man" track with people saying the beat is a throwaway beat from Tim that Polow picked up.
The Polow/Tim connection is definitely something I would love to know more about. Everytime I read an article about Polow I wish someone would just ask about their connection or at least ask how they met. Maybe one day I'll get that interview!
Timbaland on HOT 99.5
Check out theinterview!
"Donjo" who the hell is that? Haha! Dang ya'll hear that beatbox? Whoa!
XMEN:
1. Danja
2. King
3. Sir John
4. Brian Kidd ??
5. ???
So we gotta look for Shakira, Enrique, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Celine Dion (LOL!) and Chris Martin on the unreleased tracks from Shock Value.
The craziest thing to me about this interview is that Tim said he loves lyrics. Here I'm thinking sounds, noises, blips and blaps but nope it's words.
DOPE interview huh?! BIG props to TimboFan for the link.

Fabolous & Timbo
Straight from MTV:
***The official first single, though, is "Make Me Better." The track — which features Ne-Yo on the hook and was produced by Timbaland — finds Fab in a very familiar mode, talking to the ladies. The strings will remind hip-hop fans of Raekwon's classic "Rainy Dayz"; as for the lyrics, Fab and Ne-Yo tell ladies they are forces to be reckoned with on their own — but with their ladies upgrading them, they're that much better.
"You want a girl that completes you and makes you better," he explained. "You don't want a girl who brings more arguments and more bills. ... You want a girl who, when you're walking around with your tie crooked, she fixes your tie. .... That's the kind of [woman] I'm looking for. Whether she's a celebrity or non-celebrity don't really matter. You just need somebody you can connect with."It touches so many places," Fab added of the song. "It's a sexy record, plus a swagger record, an anthem record all in one. ... I played it for a couple of dudes a week ago, and they was like, 'I'mma tell my shorty that: "Yo, shorty, you make me better. I'm cool, I'm fly and sh--, but us together, we make a great pair." ' Dudes can take it — it's giving them some game. I felt it could work on all levels."
On the production front, while Timbaland helped man the boards on Fab's debut, Ghetto Fabolous, the rapper and super producer actually didn't get together in the studio this time.
"I never got to actually hook up with Tim," Fab said. "But I was in Miami working for two and a half months. So I would see him out, see him around. I seen him in [Miami hot spot] the Forge a couple of times, and a couple of his records would come on and I'd be like, 'This is what I need.' He'd be laughing and say, 'All right.' He definitely knows I respect his work. [When I went to record 'Make Me Better'] Ne-Yo came in and attacked them strings. He already had a vision. When I came in, all I had to do was put the spice on the sh-- and it was ready. It was smash already to me." ****
So finally another Fab and Tim callabo. Big props to Bossplayya for the link!
One Republic looks to sign with MMG
I just recieved a new bulletin from Ryan of One Republic and he has some exciting news to announce:
***Heyyyyyyyy all our wonderful friends out there in myspace... we've got some news!!!!
There's part of me that doesn't want to send this bulletin (to avoid the jinx- everyone knock on wood real quick)...BUT. To those who have been so patient with us you deserve information.
We are currently negotiating a deal with Interscope records through Timbaland's division of Interscope (YES, 'the" Timbaland that did Nelly Furtado, Justin, Missy, Bjork, Duran Duran)...I've known him for years (and used to be signed to a production deal with him), and as life sometimes is, everything comes full circle.....expantion:
As many of you might know we were signed to Columbia records in 05 and our album was supposed to be released this past summer.... didn't happen. Crap happened. People got fired. Labels merged and politics abounded.....if u know anything about this insane industry you will understand what we mean. Anyway, due to some savvy strings being pulled we got out of our deal and have been "unsigned" since May of 06.
Summer of 06, Timbaland comes a'callin, showing interest in signing us to his new label on Interscope (happens to be the best and our favorite label), meanwhile he's blowing up bigger than Jupiter....I, personally, as well as the band, respects and loves his music and production and savvy, so we of course say "yes". So.....we are to be Timbaland's 1st rock band released on Interscope in 07. Again, this goes against all the rules of jinxing something good.....but you need to know that at 'this' moment in time...'this' is what's happening. They are buying the album from Columbia (or most of it), we will be adding some new songs, and then releasing our album on Interscope.
ALSO- Timbaland has remixed "apologize" and put a remixed version on his own solo album called "Shock Value" which comes out Late March- EVERYONE GO BUT IT PLEASE!!! thanks. We might do an eminem- dido thing here where one album helps launch another. Needless to say- none of this has come about in the way any of us thought but we are grateful for the new label opportunity, grateful for Timbaland's interest and help, and grateful for a shot at getting our music to the masses. ......and more than anything- grateful to YOU guys for sticking with us. thanks .
Ryan *****
Definitely some exciting news! Ryan speaks of working for Timbaland productions and I asked him awhile ago about that. Turns out he produced "Apologize" under Timbaland productions. He also talked about the work he did on Bubba's Deliverence album. So they definitely have been friends for quite some time.
Looking forward to hearing more from this callabo. Tim is gonna OWN 2007!

New Justin Timberlake Video
Here's the trailer for Justin Timberlake's 3rd single:
"What Goes Around....Comes Around"
Starring Scarlett Johansson. Watch out for Feb. 9th!
Seeing Double of Kiley Dean
Kiley Dean is beloved by some many people that she's sort of become this cult icon. I've met some HARD CORE fans that don't want to hear nothin' about their dear Kiley. Timbo had the pleasure of working with this talented singer and she even made a video for "Make Me A Song" but did you know they actually made 2 versions?
Check them out:
Which one are you feelin'?
