Jennifer Lopez Wants To Be "Stronger" Too
Hannon Lane created a beauty with the beat for "Stronger" and Davion Farris definitely brought the lyrics and melodies for the track so it was no wonder that a powerhouse like Mary J. Blige would record on it. Though we've never heard Mary's version, I never thought it quite matched her style and it made sense to me that she passed on it.
Yet a good song should never go to waste and that's exactly what J Lo must have been thinking as she too recorded to the track. Take a listen:
Though I am no fan of J Lo's voice, I will admit this song suits her better than Blige in my opinion. What do you think?
Props to The Keepers for the track.
James Fauntleroy "Naked Weapon"
I have to admit I still don't believe Timbaland produced the James Fauntleroy track "Fire." Regardless of what was said or not I simply don't believe it. The production is super sloppy and it just sounds like one of those tracks trying hard to be a Timbaland track.
What IS a Timbaland track is this "new" demo by Fauntleroy titled "Naked Weapon":
Hmmm sounds familiar doesn't it...."I see u where you are, I even see u in the dark"...yes indeed it's the same sample from Attitude, 6'2, & Timbo's track "I See U." I prefer the longer sample better in "I See U" but the beat (and subtle sounds) better in "Naked Weapon."
So who is this track meant for? Your guess is as good as mine at this point. Enjoy none the less!
Rico Love Writng With Timbaland For Who?
We've read the Twitter updates and now we finally learn who Rico Love and Timbaland have been working with, check it out:
Props to Luke from The Keepers.

MINI Brings The Branch and The King Together
As with all of you, I thought Michelle Branch and Timbo were hooking up on a collabo for a new album she was working on (which still may be the case) but as it turns out the track we've heard a snippet of is the official song for MINI's newest car the Countryman.
MINI recently launched an exclusive party with VIPs and big wigs abound which included a performance of the song by Branch herself. Here's a clip from the event and a brief interview with Michelle Branch:
And here's a clip of her performing her new Timbaland laced track titled "Countryman (The MINI Remix)" no no kidding called "Getaway."
Ginuwine are you reading this?
Hayes Says "Great Is Great"
In his lastest interview, Hayes tlaks briefly about hooking up with Timbo and Dre and what to expect with his debut album. Here are some highlights:
Dubcnn: How did you actually manage to get two of the best producers in the biz, Dr. Dre and Timbaland, to take notice, and ultimately jointly sign you to both of their respective imprints; Aftermath Entertainment and Mosley Music Group, through Interscope Records?
I've known Tim and Dre for a long time. Me and Dre was on Detox, and one day we was just chilling, we was sitting on the couch -- I don’t know if we was watching a football game or a basketball game -- and Dre was like, “Yo, I was thinking ‘bout signing you, you want a record deal?” I said, “Yeah, my nigga, YES I do!” And then, me and him was out shooting dice one night at Jimmy’s club, and Tim came in and asked us, “Hey, what the fuck are you guys doing?” And Dre said, "We were about to do an album together." And Tim said, ‘I’ll fuck with Hayes. Let’s do it together, we’ll make it huge, Dre!’ And after that, we started working, and it’s been going on ever since. I couldn’t believe it was happening.
Dubcnn: Will Dre and Tim be handling/sharing all of the album’s production?
Dr. Dre will be doing half the production, and Timbaland will be doing the second half.
Dubcnn: Nice! Well, what has it been like working in the lab with these two studio geniuses/living legends?
It’s been beautiful. They are both brilliant. They both have their own style, and they both come up with the craziest, most original material. It’s amazing.
Let's hope this album comes out real soon!

Jay-Z at Coachella
It was my first time to see Jay live and dude went off! The whole show was incredible, especially when he brought out Beyonce at the end but you know I got the chills when the bass guitar first hit in this song:
Top 10 Timbaland beat by far.
Timbo Gives Quincy Jones An Idea
Quincy Jones is continuing to grab collaborators for his newest album Q: Soul Bossa Nostra being released sometime in May/June of this year. The album will a collection of Q's work throughout the years with a "modern" update. Those on board so far are Akon, Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx, Three 6 Mafia, Bebe Winans, Talib Kweli, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, and Ludacris to name a few but that's not all.
Not only will the songs be updated with singers and MCs, but various producers will give their interpretation on Q's extensive catalog. They include Scott Stoch, Jermaine Dupri, and I am assuming Timbaland. I say assuming because Q recently sat down with MTV where he revealed where the whole idea for the album came from in the first place:
"Timbaland brought the idea. Three or four years ago, we talked about [it]. Then he said everybody should be involved in this. And one by one, in various ways, it started to be what God wanted it to be."
Timbo is not stranger to Quincy's music as he has sampled many of his songs, can you name them? Be on the lookout for Q's first single "Strawberry Letter 23" featuring Akon coming out soon.
T.I. Gets Ready To Show Us The King Uncaged
T.I. has announced that his newest album will be called King Uncaged with a release date of August 24. Rumored production will include The Runenrs, Jim Jonsin, Danja, and Timbaland (hopefully!).
Stay tuned for more details!
Congratulations to ASCAP Winners!
The Thomas Crown Chronicles would like to an extend a big congratulations to Keri Hilson, Marcella Araica, and Ryan Tedder for their wins at yesterday's American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publisher's Awards.
-Keri and Marcella won for the most played song of "Knock You Down"
-Keri won for most played song of "Turnin' Me On"
-Marcella won for most played song of Pink's "Sober"
-Ryan won for most played song of Beyonce's "Halo", Leona Lewis "Bleeding Love", and Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone"
Congrats!
Danja and Tiësto
Tiësto played at this year's Coachella and let me just say he has a HUGE following. He closed Saturday night and the area was packed. Not my bag, but I appreciated what he brings to the table. Last October '09 he dropped his highly anticapted album Kaleidoscope and showed us that he had logged in some studio time with Danja by way of the album credits for "I Will Be Here" with Danja getting additional production.
That isn't the only track from the ablum that Danja helped out with however. Danja also got additional production credit for the track "Feel It In My Bones" F/ Tegan and Sara (who are dope!):
And more than likely from the same studio sessions, Tiësto and Danja also paired up again but this time on an earlier released album, September of 2009, for Dizzee Rascal's album Tongue N Cheek and the track "Bad Behaviour":
Update your Danja lists!
Props to Виктор

Word Is: Timbaland Set To Work With....
This one had me luaghing for awhile. Word is former Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler was so intrigued in what Timbaland did with Chris Cornell (seems as though he was the only one from the Rock arena) that he is teaming up with Timbo to do a....wait for it...."rap record."
Rumored guests are Kid Rock, T-Pain (laughing), and Rev. Run from DMC (tears down my cheeks).
Oh how I loved the Word Is posts....
And the winner is....
As some of you may know the Timbaland Remix of Lil' Mo's "5 Minutes" didn't just appear out of thin air rather some lucky Lil' Mo fan got their hands on the promo single and was selling it on Ebay via the UK. I definitely kept an eye on it but in the end did not bid as the price went far beyond what I was willing to pay.
The final price you ask? 90 quid! That's right nearly $140 for a 2 track promo CD! Too much you say? Depends on how you look at it since someone out there is now the owner of one of the rarest Timbaland tracks ever created.
Whoever won, hit me up! I'd love to at least listen to the full version.
Kiley Dean Interview
Check out this excellent interview with Kiley Dean where she answers a lot of long standing questions about her career, her shelved albums, and her thoughts on herself as an artist. Here are some highlights:
Q: What was going through your head when you found you were being signed to Timbaland’s label, what was it called Beat Management?
A: No, it was Beat Club and now it’s Mosely Music or something. Um, I was excited, I have been working for Tim for a while, so I was excited to be signed to a music label which was Interscope so I was like Oh My God! I didn’t know the ins and outs of the political ridiculousness that comes with the music, it becomes a job, that’s what it was, But it I still, it was such a great time in my life, it was my first album, I was ready, I just wanted to win and sing. I’ve learned a lot more since that time.
Right and the name of the first album was called (in unison) Simple Girl.
Q:Where you influenced by Aaliyah?
A:Oh totally, I loved her to death, but never got to meet her.
Q: So when you got signed to the label [Beat Club], what did you have to combat, was it publicity, Legality or Contractual issues?
A:Um, (sighs) this is gross and I don’t like talking about it, but in true honesty, it was him, I was in a war between both Tim and Jimmy, and Tim wanted me to be the new “White Whitney Houston.” And I wanted to be Kiley.
Q:So it was a marketing issue?
A:I just wanted to be me, I just wanted to put out my album and start my career, it’s something that I adored and loved. That was hard, in 2004, I knew this wasn’t going to work, so we asked for a release, but little did we know that it was going to be a tough time to be signed after being signed by Jimmy, he was the best.
Q:So how long were you signed to beat club?
A:I was signed with beat club for 2 ½ years.
Wow! I found this interview to be very sad in many ways yet so honest at the same time. Kiley has a huge fanbase and I hope one day she gets the proper release of an album that she more than deserves. She's a HUGE talent!
Rihanna's "New Sound"
Twitter is something I never thought in a million years I'd join or report on but here I am. It defintiely has it's advantages but trying to keep up with it all is useless. Just go for the highlights and hope you catch something. Alright enough ranting....
What does Mike Daddy have to say about the 2nd coming of Timbaland and Rihanna, read for yourself:
Rhianna , Timbaland gave her a new sound , im posting a crazy track on Talent Maven in 30min, Jim Beanz get Lil Kim on that joint you did.
Ok so who is on Talent Maven? And who can get us the track he's posted?!
Oh and seems as though Mike Daddy liked the Danja tracks he did with Beanz for JoJo:
Danja got serious joints on JOJO, look out, joints are crazy.
What beef?
Timbaland in the studio with Lil' Kim and...
Speaking of in the lab with Timbaland, Jim Beanz recently tweeted that he was in the studio with Timbaland and none other than Lil' Kim (Czar's favorite!). Check it out:
IN DIS B*TCH WIT TIMBO AND LIL KIM... YEAH, WUT WUT.... I GOT IT GOIN ON... WUT WUT...
But that's not the only person who was in the that studio session. Sunset Entertainment's newest artist Tina Sugandh was also was a part of it:
Been sitting here talking to Lil' Kim for like an hour....she's seriously one of the sweetest artists out there...always smilin!
In studio with Timbaland..he's improvising tons of vocals to a tabla beat I just recorded. It's 5am and it's bananas in this studio!!
2.30 AM..Just getting to work..Timbaland said its like a club in here-but without all the people. LOL. He's playing some craiiiizee beats...
Diddy "Hello Good Morning" Sneak Peak
Am I right in assuming someone recorded this at the location it was being filmed at? Gotta love it! Props to Black Arrow.

Ginuwine Continues To Talk On TImbaland
Listen to this:
WOW! The whole video had to be changed and everything even after the 50K was paid. What do you guys think about all this? Has the money gone to Timbaland's head?
Props to Buddha on the find.
Video: Aaliyah "More Than A Woman" (Alternate Version)
Check out the alternate video edit of Aaliyah's "More Than A Woman":
You catch all the differences?
Down With Webster Pass On Mosley Music Group
Canada's own Down With Webster wants you to know that despite the Juno Award nomination for New Group of the Year, they're actually not very new. "Technically, we've been around for 12 years, but as far as having presence in the marketplace, I guess we are new band on the scene," says band member Tyler Adams. The 7 member band started out doing hip hop back in high school but soon starting infusing more rock and experimental elements into their music. Now in their 20s, the group has definitely hit their stride with a month long stint on the Vans Warped Tour and touring with The Roots collective. Not only have they created a large fanbase outside of the music industry, they've created one inside as well.
KISS lead singer, Gene Simmons, made it no secret he wanted to sign the band to his newly created Simmons records. "It came out of left field. My phone rang and someone said that Gene Simmons was on the radio talking about us," Armes explains. "Later that night we were sitting in a greasy-spoon diner eating bacon and eggs with him. It was very cool and flattering, but being Gene Simmons it was all very over-the-top."
The band even caught the ear of Timbaland, jamming with the Timmy T on an all night jam session at the Hit Factory in Miami. Timbaland was so impressed he invited the band on a string of tour dates and even offered to sign them to his MMG label. In the end, despite the Timbo praise of calling them 'the illest group I've ever seen live in person' Webster signed with Mowtown Universal and will be releasing new music very soon.
Hopefully we can get a Timbo track or 2 on their next album!

Timbaland's "Talk That" (Final Version)
After over a year of wondering, a list of multiple versions, and an ever changing guest roster we finally get the final version of Timbaland's "Talk That":
So who exactly is this track meant for you're still wondering? Missy Elliott's Block Party? Nope. Ok then definitely the re-releases of Timbo's Shock Value II right? Nope. As it turns out this track it a buzz single for none other than Billy Blue's debut album. Will it end up on the final cut of the album? We'll see...
But that's not all...
Here's a little treat, a Timstrumental morsel for your collections:
"Talk That" Timstrumental
And to put that special Chronicles sauce on top, nave you ever wondered who else might be on a "Talk That" version in the Timbaland vaults? Well as it turns out D.O.E was asked but in his own words:
I past on the record. Tim asked me to get on it last year but I told him I can't "Talk That" right now. My money isn't there and I don't like to lie in my raps and he respected that.
Now that's a stand up dude right there. Shouts out to DOE for keepin' it real at all times!
Was the track worth the weight?
JoJo in the Studio with Danja
and Jim Beanz! Check out his recent tweet:
IN DIS B*TCH WIT @JOJOISTHEWAY @INCREDIBLELAGO AND @NEWAGEROCKSTARS ... WUT..??? HUH..??? YEAH, DATS WUT I THOUGHT... SAY SOMETHIN..!!
Jojo on a Danja beat, sounds dope!
A Timbaland Legend.....Found
If you've ever had the chance to look through our Unconfirmed List of Timbaland tracks, you've seen plenty of "Timbaland produced" tracks that have been talked about or rumored to be true but there's never been any actual proof that they've existed.
Well one of those tracks, that I always heard about throughout the years but no one could give me solid proof it existed, has just been unearthed. Take a listen to one of the rarest Timbaland tracks to be discovered yet:
I still can't believe it's actually real! Next up is finding the Timbaland Remix of Torrey Carter's "Take That."

More Ginuwine On Timbaland
Speaking of Ginuwine and Timbaland take a look and listen to this interview G did with 103 Jamz in Norfolk, VA:
SO sad but hopefully they'll be able to patch things up and get back to making incredible music together.
Thanks to Buddha for the link.
Ginuwine "Doesn't Like" Timbaland?
This is so sad to read. In an interview with Vibe Magazine Ginuwine opens up about his current relationship with Timbaland:
He [Timbaland] really hasn’t been interested in working with me, so I can’t speak on the present. But back in the days, it spoke for itself as far as him being the most sought after producer. Music was boring until he came out with that new sound. Back then, I would have described it as futuristic because it was something that had not been done and people jumped on it. If it wasn’t for him making that style as hot as it is, a lot of producers that’s out now maybe wouldn’t even be here.
Ho goes on to talk about his disappointment in Timbaland's lack of support on G's latest album A Man's Thoughts which Timbo produced the joint "Get Involved":
Me and Tim were real close at one point. A lot of the times that I reached out, there were a bunch of excuses. I begged and pleaded with him because I felt a certain way but I was like, is it just a bad vibe that I’m picking up on? Maybe I’m bugging out, I don’t know. But it came out to be true and I still feel like he owes me an apology for that. The reason I’m pissed off at him now is because of what he did. I would’ve been cool and not bothered him if he would’ve said, ‘Nah, I’m too busy,’ or gave me the lame excuse like he’s been giving me. But don’t do it and then not do what you’re supposed to do [to promote the song].
Despite the friction though G still has a lot of love for Tim and still thinks he'd win out in a producer battle royale:
I would have to go with Tim. I’m still a man. I’m not gonna not say the truth just ’cause I’m mad at you. [Laughs] He’s one of the best producers ever to me. Pharrell actually came up behind him. And the only reason I said Polow [in the first round], I’m looking at it on a level of what’s out now. But as a whole, there’s no one that can touch Timbaland.
And what of Timmy selling out? G gives it to us straight up:
I don’t know about the sold out thing. I think any smart businessman would go where the money is bigger, but I also feel like you don’t forget your roots either. You don’t alienate the people that helped you and started you out… What is it about me now that you just don’t like? And if it is something, say it. I can take truth. I can’t take that kind of stuff and right now I don’t really like him. I really don’t. That’s not being a man.
It really bums me out to read this interview from a man who rolled with Timbo since the beginning. It makes me wonder if this is the same way Missy Elliott feels? And others from the Da Bassment days. What do you think, has Timbaland sold out? Is it all about the money? Or is Ginuwine just angry that his career isn't as hot as it once was? Leave a comment and let us know.

Karma "Heat It Up"
Check the newly leaked track "Heat It Up" by a group named Karma produced by Timbo!
Karma "Heat It Up"
Now here's a beat I can get into. Your thoughts?
Stayed tuned for more info on this track and the group Karma. My Boogie Sense says Walter Milsap has something to do with this track. Props to Edwin!
Update: Looks like my Boogie Sense was right on the money as this track is indeed written by Walter Milsap for a boy band he worked with awhile ago named Karma. "Don't hurt 'em too bad Walt" was a dead give away. Don't forget to check out Walter's new group Mindless Behavior. Maybe we'll get a Timbo beat from them too!

Jim Beanz Working With Chris Brown
So says the tweet from Mike Daddy:
Chris Brown you back with this Jim Beanz joint , oh boy, you will see.
I can't wait for this one!
Brandy "Adios" New Snippet?! Nope
I was definitely surprised when I heard about the "new" Brandy and Timbo snippet "Adios" that has been making the rounds. It's said it's longer, or in better quality and so on but in all actuality it's from the same source as the first one it's just someone ripped it at a better quality and longer than the original snippet
Now where did both snippets come from you ask? Well if you remember from almost 3 years ago now, you would know that we here at The Chronicles played you an interview Timbaland did with the Baka Boys and I said in the post:
Somewhere (I'm not saying where) in the interview Tim plays a never before heard Tim track that was never released on this artist's final project (possibly because of this interview?). It's been argued if it ever really exsisted but this interview is proof.
and for those of you who actually listened to the whole interview know that the song I was talking about is none other than Brandy's "Adios" the same "new" snippet making the rounds this week and the same "old" snippet that's been around for years.
Listen to Boogie, I wouldn't steer you wrong :)

D.O.E Interview From Waaay Back
For all my fam' from the Timbaland boards throughout the years, you HAVE to listen to this interview:
Yeah, I hear you unbelievable and funny as hell! For the rest of you this is a very old and highly outdated interview with D.O.E back when he first started out via "Rollin." Why it surfaced now? Who cares knows.
Kiley Dean "Headcase (Ayo Technology Remix)"
Yet another remix from Kiley and again totally reworked versus just a "remix." Take a listen:
Guaranteed she's either been in touch with Timbo about working together or she's getting these tracks out there for him to hear. Will we hear more Kiley/Timbo "remixes"? Stay tuned!

GhostWridah and Timbaland
Don Cannon's new artist GhostWridah may be currently unsigned but "The Cannon" is definitely making sure he gets the rookie's name out there as much as possible. Wridah has already worked with Lloyd, Smitty, Paul Wall, as well as getting some face time with the Dr. Dre and most recently with his fellow Floridian Billy Blue on a Timbo track.
Makes you wonder if Timbo is really done with hip hop?
Kaki Kim Talks Timbo Collabo
As we know by now, guitarist Kaki King got in the studio with Timbaland for 2 sessions for Shock Value II the result being Miley Cyrus' "We Belong To Music." Here's a video of her unique talents as well as quick word on working with Timbo:
Kaki King Music
and check her version of "Lovestoned"
I'm interested in how this collaboration came about. Stay tuned for more!

Looking forward to heairng the final version.
Jha Jha and Hannon Lane Part III
I don't know what was in the water during Hannon sessions with Jha Jha, but dude went OFF! We already talked about their track "Do Something" with the same synths/sounds as Missy Elliott's "Work It" and we even solved the mystery at the time of who produced Attitude's "It's Alright It's Ok" (from the 'Tude, 6'2, and Timbo album) which had the same sounds as Petey Pablo's "In A Minute" and Jha Jha's "Get It Girl." Yep that's right all tracks produced by Hannon Lane!
Well that's not all from the sessions, in case you missed it check this track "Wap Bam Boom" which is one of my favorite Hannon tracks to date. Take a listen:
Looovin' this! Got that Dirtbag "Here We Go" vibe to it and keep listening, anything sound familiar? Take a listen to Flo Rida's "Elevator" and get back to me. Jha Jha wasn't lyin' when she said Hannon was her producer.
But wait it's The Thomas Crown Chronicles so you know we have even more. Here's yet another Hannon track from her album Git It Girl Listen:
How sick is that sample, Czar are you listening?
Big props to my homie Wamya and shout out to Hannon, you're a damn MONSTER my friend!
Here's a little Chronicles bonus sauce for you: Pull out your Rihanna Good Girl Gone Bad liner notes and check the liners for "Rehab"....now check next to Hannon's name...Mag’s Son Productions, Inc. who's that?.....yep....Magoo :)

Craig David Working With Timbaland
We've already heard Craig David and Danja together and Craig David and Jim Beanz together and now it looks like we're about to get some Craig David and Timbo on a surprise new collaboration. I'll let him tell you in his own words:
Did you hear that? Timbaland is on to Shock Value III already?! Daaaaamn!
Props to E-Gone for the info!
Travis McCoy "Manual" produced by...
Earlier this year we learned that Gym Class Heros front man Travis McCoy was working on his solo album Lazarus ("The Lazarus Project" was already taken) being released on T-Pain's Nappy Boy Entertainment Imprint. The album, due out sometime in May/June hopefully, has already been given it's first single of "Billionaire" but Mccoy is quickly releasing his 2nd single titled "Manual" featuring T-Pain & Young Cash. Check it out:
Currently Travis is in the process of shooting the video for the single and here's a sneak peak behind the scenes:
So what does this have to do with The Chronicles? Well...who do you think produced the joint? Yep you're right: Hannon Lane!
Nice laid back track and hopefully we'll get to hear a lot of in the next coming months.
Where's Jimmy D?
Senator Jimmy D, a name so synonymous with Timbaland and even more so with being an amazing engineer has been quiet as of late but that doesn't mean he's not his grind, hardly! Jimmy's current project is co-executive producing the debut album by Jaren Evan. Take a listen to the track "Heart of Gold" off the mixtape Radio In My Head hosted by Polow The Don:
The track is produced by none other than Hannon Lane with that sick guitar by the Senator Jimmy D. And wait Polow hosted mixtape? Yep that's right as Evan is signed to Polow's Zone 4 Inc/Interscope Records.
Dirty Money "Hello Good Morning" American Idol Performance
So was Diddy live and the girls lip synching or was the sound just really bad? Your thoughts?
