ummm woww...some parts of it dont go together but for all the craziness in it..i guess...haha its so weird...im not sure if i like it haha
ReplyDeleteIf this is Danja, which I still don't think it is, it's all over the place.
ReplyDeleteNot feelin' it.
i'm wondering who else could it be? true, at first based on the Ne-Yo only snippet of this song that I had, I'd assumed that there'd be more of a structure to this song, so when I heard the full I was kinda surprised 1) that Busta and Missy were on the track 2) that the chorus didn't sound like the rest of the song
ReplyDeletebut, it does build up and drop off like a Danja song... reminds me of that song he did for Khaled's new album with Missy on it, except missy's part in this song isn't as important.
last but not least... NE-YO and DANJA???? strange combination. and it doesn't sound like Ne-Yo could make it work... in his part he repeated his "gentleman fly" part instead of getting to flow like in his straight R&B songs
cool i LOVE it when the other TCC moderators post things!
ReplyDeleteit makes me feel like there actually there :)
btw... I LOVE THE SONG!
this is deff danja i think. it sounds alot like him to me. i think its amazing!
i'm on the fence .. i dig the creativity and weirdness but its a lil disjointed. challenging listen.
ReplyDeleteshit is off the chain danja makin beats that confuse ppl dats insane LMAO
ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard it, I know its Danja. I checked on wiki about Busta and the song is credited as Danja's. J, i know u can confirm this? :)
ReplyDeleteDanja is throwing people off! Thats watz up!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he is one of my main influences.
But this is def a Danja track... one indication is the little "errrrggghH" guitar like pitched sounds in the beginning.
But DANJA, if you are reading this, or one of your people.
PLEASE keep that dancing bass going during the hook, it dropped too soon, like the energy just fell off that I wanted... shit had me dancing until it stopped.
But I love this beat and song!
5 stars. I mean 4.5 until that bass is changed. :P
Fredrick I'm with you, who else could it be? Sure it's probably Danja but it sounds like a few tracks spliced together or there's an overlap that's not supposed to be there. Missy sounds almost off beat, she's playing catching up the whole verse.
ReplyDeleteHa ha it's not clean enough for me.
Anyhow, I'll sum it up by saying I've heard better from Danja.
i had to come back cause DAMN i neva herd nuthin like that. its sounds like a A+ science project shit is INCREDIBLE
ReplyDeleteam done danja u puttin me outta bizness u makin it hard for us producers man DAMN!
ReplyDeleteYou produce Iceman?
ReplyDeleteLOOL at the first line : «What the hell you think is gonna happen when you put Busta Rhymes, Missy elliott and Ne-Yo on a record ?» Straight Fire !
ReplyDeleteI got question for you producers there : Where Danja find those sounds ? Did they come from a specific keyboard/sampler particular? Did he made it himself?
Cause i don't hear them so many on others people productions :$
Absolutely 100% Danja. Full of his signature sounds. And straight heat!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKevin... Danja and I have... "similar" (loosely) sound likings.
ReplyDeleteI usually find these weird sound(s) in VSTs, keyboards, etc...
Sound libraries, etc... I just acquired a sound library that I'm so siked about using.
I personally love Techno, Dance, House, Industrial, and mostly Anime/J-Pop music and listening to these genres really help me search for and use sounds.
I love weird sounds. And another key to getting great sounds is layering them and or processing them. A simple pitch or vibrato on a sound can make it sound different.
I can't speak for Danja, but this is just what I do.
Sounds mad hot. Danja for president.
ReplyDeleteThks Venture,
ReplyDeleteActually the only «mainstream»producers i heard those songs are : Max Martin, Bloodshy&Avant, Guy Sigworth, Rob Knox (from the Underdogs)...mainly Sweedish dance producers
But the way Danja use them is simply subliminal. Now you «can» see how implicated he was on the Nelly/Justin albums. The melody and futuristic sounding is all him and, the percussion very Timbaland as usual
*those sounds
ReplyDelete@Kevin
ReplyDeletewe knew all that already that the main brain of Nelly Furtado, Justin's and Tim's album was DANJA!
:-D
This is definitely a Danja track. I know for sure because he has some signature sounds that he uses. Listen to Katherine McPhee - Open Toes. During the breakdown of this song you will hear some sounds used in this song. Listen to Day 26 - In My Bed and you will hear some sounds used in this song. Listen to T.I. - Hurt, Simple Plan - Generation, & DJ Khaled - We Taking Over and you will hear a certain sound/pattern used in this song as well...
ReplyDeleteCONCLUSION = this song is definitely produced by Danja...
P.S. This song is Dope As HELL!!!!
ive heard better. i hope this isnt the final version.
ReplyDeletewhat gives it away is the arp sound that comes in the chorus, the synth that is there for the verses, and most importantly, the clicky sounds that he uses alot as a part of the drums/percussion lol. he loves those clicks. It actually flows very well so i was surprised to read that ppl thought it was all over the place.
ReplyDeleteNo problem Kevin. I understand what you are saying too.
ReplyDeleteKevin, check your email.
Oh yah, that guitar pitch sound, or zap pitch sounds like the same source sound in Danity Kane's "Strip Tease".
ty, yah I forgot the name of that sound. It could be pitched up claves or one of those percussion instruments some dancers play when dancing to Salsa music.
ReplyDeletewell venture, whatever the name is, i am sure u will agree that he LOVES them lol lol..... he used dem from justin summer love, to timbaland misscommunication, to britney spears outta this world lol.... he used them with wyld and usher as well. props to him for always changing his sound without completely ditching his stock sounds.
ReplyDeletei love this track!!!!!
ReplyDeleteits gonna be a hit for sure!!!
Track is ILL!!! Love Danja, personallly my favorite producer today possibly ever in my opinion. Track is ridiculous!!!! Danja u killin them man! It does build up then drop off but hey that's Danja's uniqueness to his sound so I dig it if this is indeed the mastered version.
ReplyDeleteIt's a danja track for sure because it has that same tounge crap sound throughout the whole song. Just like "Migrate", "perfect lover" (outro), "magic", "open toes" (outro. I know my danja like no one else!

ReplyDeleteI think its def def a danja joint, I think it kinda sounds like kill the lights its a nice tune though.
ReplyDeleteI wanna know who wrote this though I think it has a static major vibe but can't be him he dead. I don't think that neyo wrote it.
thomas crown who wrote this ish post some details man.
@Duge,
ReplyDeleteYou have 3 artists who don't really need a songwriter or a songwriting team... so i think they wrote the song themselves
I dont recall Ne-Yo have ever worked on a Danja track before. So this must be the first!
ReplyDeletethat synth that drops when busta's first verse drops are sinister.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee this is the mastered version (if not, shoot me), cause there's another version with just Ne-Yo on it, that's less ornate
ReplyDeletebut those clicks... he's been pitching them up and down, and speeding them up, too. used in this song, they make it sound like a cartoon soundtrack. but, I've heard the clicks (snaps) and the hiss in Crystal Kay songs from around 2003. Is there a possibility Danja was ever listening to Japanese pop music?
goodness, I hope he works with Crystal Kay next year
