  4. Man... I feel bad for her.

She's gonna be a major flop. Should of had other producers on her album, the album just sounds super generic.

  5. And whats up with all these Timbo clone up and coming producers?

My God. These dudes are literally watered down Timbo.

  6. "Promise In The Dark" is not Keri Hilson.

  11. Wow so much hate. I respect Cory Bold. I dont mind tha track. But Keri can do so much better. What I wanna know is why the Division btwn Timbo & Danja. Has Danja been allowed room to grow or is there some kinda 'semi' beef between Timbo & Danja. & J Roc needs to get away from Timbo..

  12. Why (so much) autotune? Why jumping on the bandwagon?! It's not like the track is wack now, but why Cory Bold? This sounds here like a mix of Timbo, Danja and some additional snapping. A no-go for an artist who's signed to Timbo! Aren't there real musical, more classic producers out there to bring out a different side of Keri?! Yes there are! The songwriting is nice, but the vocals and melodies could have been better to me. I do not want to see this song on her album.

    Boogie what up!

  14. LOL @ yaaaawwwn
I was kinda bored with that one too

  15. @ Stardust: hmmm i see what yoor getting at as to the beef between danja and timbo hmmm they havent worked together in what seems like a long...long...long...long...long time! hmmm and j-roc seems to have potential just nothing ground breaked ((EXCEPT!!: Drum Life, which seems to have been played 98 times on my itunes :) )) they need to get together again and do their magic

  16. LOL @ Yaaaaawwwwwnnn. I agree with Stardust 100% Cory Bold is just trying to grow, give him time and this track will grow on you, just give it time. I think Danja is just branching out doing his own thing, nothing wrong with that I like Danja, solo, anyway. Timbo & JRoc can never compare to what Timbo & Danja brought to the table, NEVER! But maybe this was something Keri picked from Cory's archive based on personal interest. It's not bad, give it time guysss, it will grow on you...

  17. see but thats the problem! everyday people will not give it the chance to "let it grow on them" because all they have to do is hear it once and they will know if they like it or not and it shouldnt be that way with keri shes mindblowing! and she should be given the greatest tracks so that she can impress and make a bigger name for herself

  18. I feel worried man I was one of keri's biggest groupies man what if she ain't really that great?

I actually like the beat, and I like this more than return the favour and energy, it might grow on me it is just underwhelming sometimes she gets it right like wiv Slow dance, After love, come clean, love ya, miscommunication and covers blown.

I think the song needs some interesting melodies maybe she shud have got the clutch in on this to help out on songwriting duties.

  19. Well, what to say..

Her album release has been postponed more times than I can keep track of. Regardless of how good it might be when it finally does come out, I doubt it'll even come close to meeting with people's expectations, especially with all the pushbacks.

And as far as this 'Alienated' song goes... hardly a sign of good things to come. Offers nothing new to the table whatsoever; just the same'ol, generic R&B sound you've heard a million times, and counting. That doesn't just go for this song by the way, but every other song I've heard that's apparently going to be on this "upcoming" album.

I mean, compared to the disgusting tracks Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake got to work with on their last albums, I just feel like Keri's been terribly shortchanged :(

  20. The song sounds so....errr....slow? But the beat is quite nice.

  21. i was waiting to hear this track for a while.. and it's straight, though i really think she needs to work with Stargate or something.. maybe try to avoid that electronic sound.

  22. SAD I thought Mosley Music Group was going to CHANGE music, all he's done is begin to DESTROY music with wannabe timbalands and assembly line beats and music. How do you NOT give your rosters (plus songwriters) the best production you have? Oh I know, supposedly we'll hear it on his second album. All his "gamechanging music" will be on Shock Value 2 because he has to "shock" people again. I read in the summer that Tim and Justin were feuding do to egos and who does what. You see Justin is now with Rob Knox trying to make the stuff he made with Tim. I think similar with Danja and Tim. I don't like much of what Danja does by himself because his sound sounds 2D; with Tim he gets an extra dimension. And Tim and JROC; I DO NOT CARE FOR. The pussycat dolls songs I think were crap. Sadly by the end of 2009 autotune will officially be forced into the abyss because everybody used it to death. While autotune can add effect, it needs to be used artistically and not all the time. Both Keri Hilson and Chris Cornell's albums were done INCORRECTLY!!!!

  23. woah woah woah!! ... halo was not crap...it was beautiful!

  24. Wow. Rift between Timbo and Timberlake? Link please.

Also, if I were in Danja's shoes, I'd be doing the exact same thing...doin my own thing. You don't have to be a genius to figure out Danja carries most of the load as far as melodies and arrangements on their collaborations. Timbo's more on the drums...

Finally, Timbaland's got a huge fucking head, egowise, so I blame him for any and everything. Not really, but to a certain degree...(check the studio vids w/ him and M.I.A. ...no respect for other artists...)

  25. @Michael Khan
I wanna bitch slap you like CRAZY just because you mentioned Stargate! She should definetely not work with them idiots who continue to put out the same bullshit over and over again. And that's why I respect Jimmy Iovine, he doesn't really make deals with Stargate and Interscope artists.

    @haveacow21
?? what has "Halo" to do with Timbaland or Keri?! It's a Beyonce song and produced by Ryan Tedder. Nobody here said anything bad about this hot song.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ^^uhhh I think he meant the PCD song

Anyways tho, I think the blame that is directed towards producers in this case is wrong....... Keri Hilson seems to be the cause of the music being so uninspiring..... it cannot be a coincidence that so many producers are flopping on one project at the same time. She is most likely asking for what she has been putting out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Big-A HAHAHA ya stargate is like bad reruns (not to say they are bad :)) ) and umm ya the pcd halo not the beyonce halo ... :)

    @ ty ... good point...hmm its possible :(

  28. "2D"

Oh my, Christopher said Danja sounds "2D". LOL Thats funny to tell someone their music sounds 2D! lol I got to use that that insult sometime.

But um... I think Keri just has an ear for mediocre tracks/lyrics to be honest.

Lets be honest, Cory Bold does sound like a Timbaland clone. He is hustling though, and making nice music I guess. And I guarantee you Cory played better beats for Keri, and she just ended up liking this one, and decided that some mediocre lyrics should go on top.

Music has been letting my down lately. I hope 09 producers/artist/writers/a&rs/people in general kick it into gear and deliver quality and enjoy their lives.

  29. hahah.. I guess you're right, Stargate is pretty repetitive but they do make hits from time to time.

  30. @ Venture: hmmm i think cory bold sounds more like a different form of polow...i mean polow is the one that usually works with him...

    @ Michael Khan: i enjoy stargates music :) i just want something...more...from them :)

  31. oooh oohh!! did yall read what mr cory bolds put on his myspace addressing the leak? oooh oooh!!!

"Hi guys! CORY BOLD here! Just wanted to address the recent leak of "KERI HILSON - ALIENATED" That I did the production for. I am a little dissapointed, mainly due to the fact that the actual track for that one I did about 3 years back. It was also to suppose to be released A LOT sooner! Just be aware the the production on that track is NOT a very good example of where I am NOW as a music producer. I feel like I have grown in musical skill tremendously since then. Not to mention, the leak is an OLD mix of the song. That is all! Thank you guys, and 2009 is THE YEAR I will make my attack on the music industry..... so I hope you all are ready!!"

  32. ......to me it sounds as if we were right...it is an old track...at least he knows that its not his best...which is ummm honorable :) so then we agree that its keri?? hmmm this makes me think that keri....im not gonna say it...but i will say this...keri did say that she was going to "do her own thing" and i do think she is...hmmm and as bad as i want "your covers blown" maybe she doesnt want it because 1) it was originally for timbos album and it might be rewash 2) it wasnt the right track for her...idk

  33. I had a feeling Cory Bold's been reading this blog. haha.

What's up with his tracks being so wide. It fills my up my headphones from top to bottom. It's cool though. I wonder if he uses all the Waves Plugins at once..

    ReplyDelete
  34. hahaha yaa i knw

    i like the "waveyness"

  35. HAhahaha Michael Khan youre right. He really pans his music hardcore right & left. But it is kinda cool. But Im glad ppls realise that Keri or Timbo chose the track. Cory Bold has some crazy beats. Trust me. I think Timbo needs to stop relying on other ppls to arrange melodies & shit. Do his own tracks by himself for a while. Like that 'I dont need it' (jamie foxx). Danja does still need a bit of Timbo guidance. Timbalands always had ego. & always will. Ive accepted it now. But going back to his entire discog which I now have. He is the King. No doubt. About the Timbo clone saga. You pple have to realise that Tim started a whole different sound which ppls do venture into. Its not a sin people. As long as you are creative & make other types of music. But I understand what you mean though. Nway like i said, its a nice track. Christopher....youre so right.

  36. The track isnt as bad as you guys are making it out to be. Its a pretty good track. Cory confirmed that this track was an old track and that it doesnt showcase where his skill is currently. rather this is a throw-away track or not, Keri and Cory did a decent job.

  37. this track is pretty good congrats Cory Bold.
