The Pussycat Dolls spring 4 leaks

Ok technically they've only sprung 1 leak but there's 4 tracks that are part of that leak that we've been waiting for. Off their sophomore album Doll Domination in stores September 23 here are:

"Magic" (produced by Timbaland & J Roc)

"Halo" (produced by Timbaland and J Roc written by The Clutch)

"In Person" (produced by Timbaland and J Roc, written by The Clutch)

"Whatchamacallit" (produced by Timbaland and J Roc written by The Clutch)

"Magic" is reminiscent of Lil' Kim's "The Jump Off" (minus the chorus). Check that indian sample 1/2 way through too, don't worry Czar will have it identified next week. "Halo" I'm on the fence about. It's cool but doesn't really catch and more so hold my attention though all the layering of sounds in the chorus is crazy. Sounds like a track that should have (or might have) gone to Keri Hilson. "In Person" is hot as hell and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a single. Make sure to listen to it with your headphones to really catch all the sounds and especially that brass! As far as "Whatchamacallit" it's crazy and my personal favorite. I'm especially diggin' the chord progressions and all those little synth sounds throughout the chorus.

Tim and J Roc definitely delivered on all the 4 tracks and it's good to hear Tim add a little more old school double and triples to his current synth heavy poppier sound. I'll be coppin' that disc come the 23rd! Thanks to Tom on the find.

  5. that list on wiki is bullshit as usual. "Who's Gonna Love You" is clearly Polow Da Don for example

  6. Tim has to take a breather for acoustic guitars; Halo, like many others, sounds a bit like 'What Goes Around..'

  17. Watchamacallit is the best.

    PCD did nice though.

    I await the instrumental.

I still think Watchamacallit could of been weirder though.

  18. Looks like tims back. that halo track is not done right. i can hardly hear the girls voice in that, either the beta is too loud or there voice is too soft and quiet. no emotion

  19. The Clutch did it again, Candice always brings that hot shit! OMG I love these tracks! Album's a bit shit but other tracks that jump out at me are "Takin' Over The World" and "Elevator". I did like "Who's Gonna Love U" and "Happily Never After" too but I guess they're old now.

  21. SO basically whoever is Timbo's "piano man" is really the sound of Timbo at that period of time: the "timbo sound". (if not understanding, listen to old tim/danja and listen to "classic" tim, and listen to tim/jroc, also listen to tim/brian kidd and you'll see what I am talking about.)

  23. Why because he can't play the keys all those people came up with the tim sound on their own I refuse to believe that..but it shows tim can show pick talent he never gets credited for. I like them all Tim/JRoc did their thing.

  27. Ha ha Timbo The thief!! I would really like to see Tim produce by himself. In all due respect he may be helping young producers careers but at least give cats like Danja and Jroc more cred, cause we as fans argue who is the brain behind da music. It makes sense, Tim was a bit dodgy since the time he tried to silents young Scott Storch for "Cry me a river". lets see how long these antics will would last him.

  28. PowerMusic your homework assignment is to go listen to Ginuwine and Aaliyah's first albums.

  30. I have, I believe thats him then, but remember most of he songs are sample (very good samples, samples which are hard to find)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Tim said he had the concept to Cry Me A River but of course he can't really play keys he got storch. The whole theory tim needs to give Danja,Hannon,Jroc,Royal Court their do he has countless times especially danja he is putting them all on how is that not helping their careers.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I didn't say he's not helping their career, but you have to see it as Danja, Jroc ect had to build their sound and craft although it may of had Tim influences, the every day listener would automatically think Tim made the song portraying him as the credited producer.

Maybe Danja and Jroc work on Timbaland brand name to make money and sell records.

  33. "Magic" is really dope, thats how I like the real Timbaland sound.

    "Halo" sounds oddly weird.

"In Person" sounds like a hit single.

"Whatchamacallit" needs some time to get use to it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "Magic" is the only Tim track I like. The rest are just 'meh'. As for "Halo" - HOW many times is Tim gonna recycle that "Deliverance" sound!? He worked it for "What goes around, comes around", "Rehab", "Devil wouldn't recognize you" and now "Halo". The song's a mess - it just doesn't go anywhere.
