  2. NOBODY SEEMS TO LIKE HER ENGINEERING GRIND. People think she makes a hot Danja song sound like shit with the way she mixes it.

Which may or may not be true... don't look at ME.

  3. I wish I could mix his tracks.

She leaves way too much mud. I was just seeing what he says she is garbage for. LOL

  5. Check your liner notes, Marcella has been around for a long time.

Before Danja was a household name.

  6. C'mon now! I honestly don't think Marcella is as bad as you're making out. I've never heard any of her mixes and thought "That sounds like crap!" The only 2 tracks I felt could've been mixed better were "Bad girl" and "Best best". They sounded super muddy. Everything else, I've not had a problem with.

I dig her engineering grind. She's a lady doing her thing and she seems to work really well with Danja, even contributing to songwriting in some cases. I've always wondered if the 2 of them have 'a thang' going on. *lol*

  11. Marcella is good, but sometimes her mixed could be better tho. I have to be honest. On a side note: she just finished mixing some tracks on Wallen's (french arist) next album in Paris not that long ago. Check the single "Business", she mixed that one. http://www.blinkx.com/video/wallen-business/E0-9xnMHQGixNpCecm0wJw

  13. This track sounds great after "Bore Me" and "Pocketbook" we know Beanz and Candice make magic together. However...wish it was a Clutch track, hope they appear on the album at least once. "Radar" anyone?

  14. excuse me but.....
    wat does a mixer do???
wat does it mean to "mix" a song???

a song usually consists of a bunch of different tracks. so an engineer is leveling all different sounds, effects, drums, hi-hats, vocals, ad-libs etc. just making the song sound clear and not distorted, so u can hear at the end all details clearly

  16. A mixer engineer is someone who takes all the instruments in a track (these instruments and/or vocals are usually on separate tracks) and "mixes" them in together to make them all fit and communicate with each other well. This can be achieved by leveling, processing, automation, etc... So when you hear a greatly mixed track, you can hear every instrument at most to all levels, and everything will sit in the soundscape.

Ms. Lago is good, but sometimes she leaves unnecessary mud, and sometimes her panning methods should be rethought.

  17. @ venture bro

Nice insight I never new that was what the sound engineers do, what happened to Jimmy Douglas I know he used to work with timbaland?

Why can't Danja mix and engineer his own tracks? I know that Ryan Leslie for example does it all by himself and he is self taught. Is a good mixer/engineer necessary?

  18. No problem.

Some producers like myself, want to producer and engineer music. Some don't. Some people just like wearing one hat. I assume Danja is one of those producers.

A good mixer/engineer is very necessary. Without a good one, you probably won't be able to stand listening to cluttered song, or beat for that matter. They blend in all the sounds.
