Yes we all read about Timbaland being on Chris Brown's album but as of late there has been no mention of the Timbo track for Brown's new album. I figured then that the news of the two working together must have referred to Timbaland and Chris Brown's recent pairing on this year's MTV VMA's with Timbo creating Brown's intro for his performance. However, this "Lottery" from Chris Brown's forthcoming album really has me wondering if Tim was a part of it.
Update: This track is produced by Rob Knox of The Underdogs. Timbaland did not make Brown's album despite what various media outlets reported. To all the Chris Brown, Rob Knox, and Underdogs fans, welcome to The Chronicles!

Sounds good! It definitely has the Timbo sound he and his camp have had lately. All the discussions on this site have me wondering whether anything truly is done by Tim alone anymore. He is almost like a supervisor now, just stamping his name and approval on his ghost-producer's tracks. He probably just puts his name on there to increase the price and then takes a cut of the profits, giving the rest to the real producer.
ReplyDeletefirst off i think that beat is fire, it has all the componets of a timbo beat the lo-fi snares and choir definately feel like timmy on the track, if its not him there trying really hard to sound like him
ReplyDeletewikipedia is saying its timbaland (i know they're not the most credible source.) but it def sounds like something "the clutch" would write which could mean tim, danja or someone else is involved. but thats just my opinion.

this sounds like timbo, but at the same time it sounds like polow or sum1 from his camp, more so than timbo solo. its nice tho but chris brown is gonna flop sorry to say lol.
ReplyDeleteI like it, i dont think its polow or someone from his camp more like tim and his camp. Im kind of tired of tim's camp getting on tracks i expect tim to produce, except for hannon and danja these two i dont mind.
ReplyDeleteTim said he was doing 5 tracks and was scheduled to work with chris brown we all know that not all five would make the album if even any at all so it could be his just have to find out.
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say it sounds sort've like a Royal Court beat, but those Drums are way heavier than anything they've done plus that beat switch up the end doesn't sound like something they'd do.
ReplyDeleteStill, I guess we wait for the album to drop for the production list, even though we know how creditable that is.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Royal Court but the drums do sound phatter than what King usually uses, so then that leads me to say Polow...guess we'll just have to wait and see
ReplyDeletethe vocals suck
ReplyDeleteThere hasn't been any mentioning of him working with polow it has to be tim but who knows anymore.
ReplyDeleteTim is usually known for beat switches in his beats but now he hardly uses it anymore.
ReplyDeletei bet money this not a timbaland solo. the chorus sounds familiar (wink wink) but im sure it was a group effort in the entire production. again we will have to wait 2 c the production credits. nontheless there are timbaland nuances in the track. i doubt if its polow da don. it doesnt feel like one of his tracks but ive been wrong in the past. regardless its a dope track
ReplyDeletehey man.
ReplyDeletei think it sounds like timbaland.
it kinda reminds me of the leaked keri hilson track "love ya" and i think danja was in involved with that
with timbaland. but yeah definitely tim and possibly danja in my opinion.
ps keep up the good work with the
site man.
*jerome*.
^Yeah does sound like tim with danja dont think it was royal court.
ReplyDeletepolow da don!
ReplyDeleteSounds like The Clutch...with some Royal Court elements except for the beat switches..nice track
ReplyDeletemy money's on Royal Court.. don't think it's Danja, don't think it's Timbo
ReplyDeleteSounds like Tim & Bob...
ReplyDeletenegative on tim & bob and polow, more tim or danja.
ReplyDeleteThink about it. The sounds and every instrument used. Its a group effort involving the clutch timbaland, danja, king. Its all in one. Even polow might have helped as he is associated with them.
ReplyDeleteThe chord progression reminds me of something the clutch would do.. Maybe danja on the beat.. I'm sure if tim did the track, he'd have his voice all over the track..
ReplyDeleteIt could just be another biter..
Either way it's a sick beat
this is not timbaland.. sounds like polow a lil bit but i doubt if either are involved with it...i say its a new producer thats down with either of them gettin his shot....and since when if track has a beat switch it has too be timbaland..thats so ridiculous...when songs like this are posted it makes me question if people are really fans of tim..that u cant recognize his sound..no way this is tim
ReplyDeleteDidn't nobody say a beat switch determines its tim he doesn't better than anyone, but you could see the confusion since he has alot of biters people get mad when says he has them but its true or he is just teaching them his old style which alot of us like he has so many hard to choose.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny when people get mad or question fans for not recognizing Tim's so called "sound" these days.
ReplyDeleteWith the combination of Danja, Hannon Lane, Royal Court, and Jim Beanz either producing or co-producing pretty much every production associated with Timbaland these days, I would say his "sound" isn't as distinguishable as it once was and it doesn't take a true fan to figure that out.
thank you i agree.
ReplyDeletesong has this "old" double-beat influence. think its solo tim.
ReplyDeletethe beat has a typical king logan pattern (icebox). but im not sure if this is tim. i think it sounds too unfocued to be tim or his protogees. it could be a biter, if its tim he hasnt put much effort into it. and the beatswitch at the end sounds more like someone trying to switch it like tim but cant. but i guess time will tell...
ReplyDeleteIt's Rob Knox from the Underdog Camp.. Get it right..
ReplyDeleteIt's freakin Rob Knox on the track and James Fauntleroy writing it. These two are the next ones in line.. Watch and see..
ReplyDeleteI think it's rob knox too! that kid's got heat.
ReplyDeleteIt's UD's Rob Knox producing and Flosseroy on the lyrics. Now you know...
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. It sounds like a combination of Clutch, Royal Court, and Danja to me.
ReplyDeleteNot really. Sounds like a good R&B song. Nothing more then that..
ReplyDeleteDanja and the Royal Court... working together? You guys need to get up on your stuff.
ReplyDeleteBut, that beat is really all over the place. It's not structured like anything I'd expect to hear from Danja, Timbo, or the Royal Court. And, now we know whodunit...
someone else
ReplyDeleterob knox is the shi*, this beat is just the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI think its Tim and I am glad to hear again an asian melody in there!! I was waiting for it since the good old "all y'all"-track days..
ReplyDeleteWhy is everybody hatin on everybody else.. Ya'll mad cuz your not on Chris Brown's album.. Get over it and get a life.
ReplyDeleteI know what you think. But I'm telling you that it's NOT Timb.. I know for a fact it's Rob Knox from the Underdog's..
ReplyDeleteWhere is the Asian melody at?
ReplyDeleteUnderstand that timbaland produced this track or had a hand. The underdogs do bite his style but hink. Tim has made a transition to the point where we dont know his beats no more. But commonsense will tell you by listening to the drums, its timbalands prodcution crew all the way.
ReplyDeleteUnderdog's don't bite anything about Timb so get that right homie.. They're sound isn't anywhere close to his sound. The UD's are ballad guys and Timb is Timb.. This song is not produced by Timb or anybody in his camp. I know for a fact it's not.. We can make a bet on it. It was Produced by Rob Knox from the underdogs. A new producer. Study your music. Underdog's have never sounded like this so now all of a sudden they do. They have a young guy under them doing this stuff.
ReplyDeletethat Rob Knox is dope!!!!!!!!!! and hes fine as hell!!!! talented and sexy?!?!? is he single???????
ReplyDelete-BFF
the beginning feels like Cry Me A River and the beat switch is also similar in ways. But it would definitely have timbo's voice in it, most likely vocoded if that. I can actually hear another producer somewhere in them middle of the track.i also think the song has too much layers to be either timbo or danja.
ReplyDeletehow u gonna say the underdogs dont bite anyones style. obviously they did if you have a bunch of people saying it sounds like someone in tims camp, numerous websites think its timbaland and if i took this song to people at my school and asked who they thought it was they'd say timbaland u know why? cuz it sounds like tim or the camp. so if it is Rob Knox that qualifies as biting tims style.
ReplyDeletewhat about it sound's like a timbo bite? Can you specify?
ReplyDeleteI kind of agree that it does sound like timbaland mainly because The Choir, the drum pattern, percussion (mainly that snare).and the way the synths are layered.
ReplyDelete....and the beat switch up
ReplyDeleteThe choir part I agree. That's about it. None of the synths sound like Timb. Drum pattern is a regular double kick type of pattern. Timbaland didn't invent that. Everbody before Timbaland's time has used that drum pattern.. Music is recycable people. Let's understand this..
ReplyDeleteMaaaaaan, this aint tim, this aint polow, or danja....this is robknox of the udogz! He's got 3 tracks on the album...make sure to purchase the limited lp nov 6th. Cop the album if you think I'm lyin!
ReplyDeletePeace
this doesn't feel like tim. the switch in the beat sounded.....un-fascinating. the rest of the track, it just lacks the imagination that we are used to seeing from tim.
ReplyDeleteDude still a biter though he can twist it however you want play it to tim and his camp i bet he would get upset.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess dude can't use a freakin kick or snare anymore cuz Timb used one also right?? I guess because crips and bloods wear red and blue, that means nobody else could wear red or blue.. It don't sound anything like Timb. Sound's like dude grew up listening to Timb's production and is influenced by it. That doesn't mean he's biting. Biting and influenced by is 2 different things. Timb isn't a brand new producer, he's a legend and a pioneer. If this cat bit Timb then EVERYBODY in the music biz have bit EVERYBODY ELSE..
ReplyDeleteanon, you sure are taking it hard.
ReplyDeletebig shit he's biting timb's old style.
no problems, it's still a tight track.
let it go already
wow...55 comments..this gotta be the post with the most comments on the chronichles...and this track is almost for sure not produced by timbaland...lol!anyway the beat is hot...even though is not that well organized as an original tim beat...nice to see other producers influenced by tim though...who knows maybe they will one day sound even better than him...till then timbo is the king!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanna know who produced it already! I really don't think it was anyone having to do with the Underdogs they stick strictly to the R&B genre not Hip-Hop, this beat is Hip-Hop. I think its either a Timbaland & Danja track or possibly a Timbaland & Royal Court track, due to the drums cuz those are Timbaland drums. I need to find out who produced it so I am most definitely buying the Chris Brown album, its a good album everyone should pick it up!
ReplyDeletesong is wack period
ReplyDeleteLet me say it AGAIN. I know for a fact it's Rob Knox from the Underdog's. He's not one of the 2 main Underdog's.. He's one of the young producers they signed and is now gettin his shine.. He has 3 total songs on this album. But for some reason one of those song's is only on the Limited edition albums. He did Lottery, Help Me and Get Atcha.. I'm an intern for Jive so I know what the credits say.. James Fauntleroy wrote all 3 of the song's as well. These 2 cat's are doope I'm telling ya'll. They are the next cats in line!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn. This track is hot. I like the beat, especially on the chorus. But it's so raw the way people are taxing Timbo's style. *LOL*
ReplyDeleteI just read all these comments on "Lottery". It is most definitely a Rob Knox Track... no question. He's one of the new guns over at the Underdogs camp. All the speculating can come to an end. This is the absolute truth. I hear he's got a lot of heat, watch out for this guy.
ReplyDeleteBig up to this Rob Know guy. Its a good track. I personally dont understand how Timbaland can claim certain drum patterns and sounds. Doesnt leave much room for other up and coming producers to shine. I myself have been influenced by Timbalands music and it def shows in some of my works. So eat it. :)
ReplyDeleteRob Knox* my bad!
ReplyDeleteinstead of rob knox his new name should be rob timbaland for jackin his style lol i guess he can be added too the biters list also...damn now a days in music bitin is consider a form of appreication or some one being influnced... just look at in clothing terms say sneakers...u have the real authentic jordans and bapes and then u have the fake ones...but yet people choose too wear them as if there real...and much cheaper...so thats all this is a cheaper timbaland...very similar but not real
ReplyDelete^What do you mean "nowadays"? Classical composers have blatantly stolen from each other from day one. The BEST of them.
ReplyDeleteRob Timbaland? Real corny dumb ass. I don't see where this guy bit Timbo from? Music is all recycable you moron. Everybody takes from everybody. What components of the song is a "Timbo" record. If anything, its closer to a Polow record. It has the feel of "Promise" from Ciara in terms of the kick pattern. But we can go on before that song and find the same kick pattern. That's the whole point.. You can never NOT use a kick pattern and not make it similiar to another.. A kick has to go "BOOM" and a snare has to go "SMACK".. It's the physics of our music.. If anything, at least he sounds similiar to somebody that's good. I'm glad he's not influenced by "Ay Bay Bay" or "Crank Dat" or some REAL WACK SHIT... I think this Rob Knox cat is dope. Please stop w/ the hating. I know you would love to be in his shoes and be on a Chris Brown album however many times as he's on it.
ReplyDeleteHe may be dope but you dont have to sound like any producer to get on apparently so now i guess.
ReplyDeleteHe's right. Its an Underdogs Production. He also did Help Me and the Underdogs did Take You Down. Fauntleroy helped write on all 3 songs.
ReplyDelete-bigmac
man u guys kill me...about this guy your actin as if this is the greastest beat ever made..or song..its average at best...i cant see this being a single...just a album filler..biting is biting and he did it...he has no origianlity in my book...i bet this guy ends up like all the rest of the guys that bite...no where...so good luck rob knox...aka mr biter
ReplyDeleteFOR THE LAST FREEAAAKN TIME ROB KNOX DID THIS BEAT AND JAMES FAUNTELROY WROTE IT! I AM A WRITER AND I WORK AT UNDERDOGS STUDIO WIT SAINT NICK! I WAS THERE WEN CHRIS CAME IN TO RECORD SEVERAL TIMES!!! JUS WAIT TIL DA ALBUM COMES OUT TO CHECK THE CREDITS U RETARRRDS! LOTTTERY IS A R KNOX J FAUNTELROY PRODUCTION!
ReplyDeleteI bet this is Timbo you hijo de puta!!!
ReplyDeletehey too the writer for knox above tell rob too come up with his own style...and own innovation...hes a producer so he knows how other producers feel about biters...or as you guys call inspiration..this is almost like stealing but then u say sorry after...say its hate all u want...but let one of u guys come up with sumthing and master it and along comes sumone who steals parts of u too incorporate it into there self...thats what lacks in music originality...be ur self and stop tryin too be sum one else...and then lie about it once people confront u...if i was tim id start smackin up biters
ReplyDeleteOK Rob Knox, you can come out of the closet now. We know its you writing all these pro-knox posts. I dont think even his mother would write such lovely stuff about him. And while youre at it you can go back into the closet, come out again and say "im a timbaland biter". that is not too hard to do is it? nothing to be ashamed of. to come out of the closet two times in the same day, good boy!
ReplyDeletewooow some people on this blog are such haters.. go drink some "HATERADE" i mean if Chris Browns LABEL wanted timbo to do a song on his album then they would have just GOT TIMBO, hes just a CALL away ... DUHHHH !
ReplyDeletei mean Rob knox is a dope producer ... hes not stealing anyones style.... Give Credit when its DUE!

ReplyDeleteexactly rob knox is exposed as a biter...great way too start ya career homie...the guy above is obviously knox...u seem so angry...just admit u like tim and polows style ...what a clown dont u realize this is a site for tim and his crew.. and jive got you too do the track because the dont have the budget for a tim track...they gave u about 10 grand...and tim is 500k so u do the math.. most of chris's budget went too the features on his cd...no ones hating on the fact you made it too his cd.. congrats by me..just the fact that your style is already being done by others...you and t-pain should produce together..since u like too jack styles
ReplyDeletewow first when i said this mus be knox i wasnt 100% sure... but then i saw the reply. now im possitive.
ReplyDeletewere not hating you rob knox. we just say that you need to chill. and get your own style. and its low of you dissing timbo fans on a timbaland fan site. youre obviously a timbaland fan yourself since you are here at the site. and then the production, just admit it you were a little too inspired by tim. who isnt these days?
Hahahahaha. This is funny as hell.. Why is everybody on here makin such a commotion about a song that don't even sound like Tim. Ya'll would of never said it sounded like tim if they didnt put this post up thinking tim did this song. seriously people. stop wit the gay shit. everybody let it go now. this song is cool. it isn't amazing. but its good. it doesn't sound like tim but because they made this post on the song and tim, now all of a sudden it sound's like tim.
ReplyDeleteCause it does anyway cant wait to hear SkyCap the song tim produced for Mary's album.
ReplyDeleteDont bother argueing Timbaland the best you will ever know has done it again. Chris brown http://youtube.com/watch?v=2y_tSMwOKGw
