Who Flipped it better? Jermaine Dupri (and Brian Michael Cox) Vs. Lil' Jon Vs. Timbaland

This latest "battle" if you will has to do with a long sought after sample that still has yet to be identified. Timbaland first used the sample back in 1999 on Ginuwine's "Only When UR Lonely" Remix off of his classic album The Bachelor.

The following year, in 2000, Jermaine Dupri, assisted by Brian Michael Cox, used the same sample for Da Brat's track "My Bitches" from her album Unrestricted.

Finally, Lil' Jon decided to revisit the sample and used it for his and the Eastside Boyz track "Grand Finale" F/ Jadakiss, Bun B, Nas, and T.I. from the 2004 album Crunk Juice .

So in a span of 5 years 3 top producers used the same sample but as always the question is: who flipped it better? HUGE bonus points this week too if you can name that sample.

  7. As this is a timbaland remix, the track dont go well with ginuwine's lyics (which is more of a slow jam track) but overall tim's beat is the best,
Come-on! the JD is a timbo beat biter. the JD track just gets boring and dont smake it like the timbo beat.

  9. Timbos is way more complex compared 2 JD & Lil Jon. He can take the sample out & the beat still sounds ill.

I think the sample is from THE USUAL SUSPECTS. TIMBO is infactuated by tht movie.

  12. Hey its obvious that the sample is from USUAL SUSPECTS because timbo even says in the beggining "some people call me Kaiser" which is the main dudes name from the movie

  14. I like Jon's version best but thats probably because of the rappers on the song. JD's snares and hihats dont sound good with the sample and ginuwine just dont fit over that beat so it throws everything off. I been jammin Grand Finale since it first dropped and never knew he used a sample.

  15. Lil' Jon's Favorite Producer is Timbaland. JD been a Beat Biter for a ill minute too. Think they all got the idea from Timbo in the first place

  18. Error opening file. *Sigh*

Seriously, when are you guys going to realize this music provider sucks?

Anyways, the only one I hadn't heard beforehand was JD's version, and I hate the guy's face. I'd probably go with Timbo's, even though its got that famous snare he rinsed straight for most of the album's production. :P
