Timbaland talks with Ryan Seacrest

Here's a VERY interesting radio interview Timbo did with Seacrest where he talks about "The Way I Are", the VMAs, and his views on Britney's new track.

Timbaland talks to Ryan Seacrest

Times have definitely changed haven't they? A couple months ago Tim was talking about how he wanted to bring Britney back, how he felt sorry for her, how the public should leave her alone, and how he and Justin were going to work with her. There was even reports of Justin and Britney doing a Timbaland produced duet together.

Fast forward to present day and now Britney's new song is "ok", it isn't worthy of opening the VMAs (versus "crunk" music which Tim feels should open the show), she has no hype, and there is no way Britney, or anyone for that mattter, can compete with Timbaland aka "King Arthur." It also seems as though Tim isn't happy Danja and Britney worked together alone verus the whole "family" that included Justin and Timbaland.

Tim talks about Danja being one of his producers "under" him. Then he talks about how he groomed Danja for 3 years yet he continually points out how he hasn't heard the song and people aren't saying much about it. You haven't heard your #1 producer's, who's been under your tutelage for 3 years, new song with one of the most talked about celebrities in the world?

Seems as though the Tim and Danja collaboration days are coming to an end...

  4. yea i was talkin about this in an earlier post wen sum1 said they saw tim on television or sumthin like that hatin on the track. its sad how tim is hatin on his own apprentice, and it seems so personal. i mean timbaland wasnt the one with the relationship issues it was justin lol. y is tim hatin on her and gettin so involved. its sad how quickly times change lol. i thought pharrell was dumb to turn away justin over jive and the clipse, but timbaland may have taken the cake lol. if britney sells the millions she is capable of, there will be NO tim and danja talk like what we heard with the justin and nelly projects. tim may hav just given danja his first shot at individual stardom.

  5. I seriously don't think this is THAT big of a deal to be blowing things out of proportion. J Boogie, I don't think that Tim is upset with Danja. When he said the thing about "family" I think he meant that he would rather have Britney comeback hard than to have a 50/50 chance of coming back by herself with a couple songs produced by Danja. There was definitely plans set in stone about the Justin/Britney duet but she just decided not to do it at the last second. If they would've recorded that together that probably would've started the VMAs over the very breathy "Gimme More". And COME ON! Criss Angel doing illusions for you? This ain't no circus! I understand it's Vegas and that "anything goes", but at least make it something that people will be into. Criss Angel might just be ok. Who knows, though? That dude is just plain creepy.

  6. He says he "..heard the beat..". I think he just means the track just without brits voice over it, before finishin..

  7. danja is over-rated, tim let danja move on and do his thing and go back to making those year 3000 beats

  8. cmon boog he was saying was a generalized statemeent of the feedback... he did say he heard the beat and said he liked but he hasn't heard the song. Tim is a busy man... i wldnt of even heard about it unless ya'll mentioned it on here.

i seriosly doubt that the callabo between Tim and Danja will end...

  9. Tim did "the beat was poppin", and he's right in sayin the finished song isnt that great. Ryan Seacrest even agrees w/ him.

  11. i ain't really been paying attention to radio as of late, so i can't really say how "hot" Britney's song's doing. that'd be an objective measure though, regardless of if so-and-so likes it.

i turned off the interview toward the end but i didn't really hear anything that sounded hostile. Danja being "under" Timbo's been true until recently, where they've been doing beats separate. actually to be honest i almost thought they had some kinda pseudo-split goin' on, where Danjahandz was taking care of the rap side and Timbo was doin' pop, hah.

but anyway, it didn't sound to me like there's any Storch-style fallout brewin', and even if there was that'd be kinda interesting. would Danjahandz blow up on his own and Timbo struggle to do as well without him co-producing? i kinda doubt it considering the only solo Danja beats that've really impressed me are the shit he did on T.I.'s album and to a lesser extent "We Takin' Over" (the beat for Spears is cool, even though it's a little like "SexyBack" without as much pop) but that'd be interesting to see.

  12. The best Danja beat that anyone ever got for his money was "We Takin' Over," followed closely by "My Love"... that was over half a year ago, at the least. Aside from T.I., Danja hasn't been working with the right artists for his style lately. Maybe Duran Duran will bring him back.

But, Tim doesn't realize that he needs to drop another single soon, does he?

  13. wot danja did is kinda messed up, der wud b no danja widout tim.

  14. and Tim wouldn't be here if Danja didn't bring him back.

  15. timbo didnt go nowhere, hes already established in da game, he didnt help make hits lyk dirt off your shoulder and shit lyk dat

  16. well Danja came up with the synth motif for "My Love," but the whole beat was done with Timbaland.

  17. wel jus listenin to da vma's it seems lyk tim aint lost nuffin

  18. He seems bitter to me. The only person he seems to have love for is himself and Justin Timberlake. I find it funny how he can say "Gimme more" is just "okay" and then diss it when it sounds like the kinda thing he went and gave his f**k buddy Justin. Tim should be congratulating, not hating. He's probably got a sour taste in his mouth because Britney and her people went to Danja and not him.

Tim doesn't interview all that well to be honest. He always sounds like he's pissed off even when he isn't and he isn't the most articulate of speakers. His english is as bad as Britney's VMA performance. I guess that's a price you pay for having amazing production skills.

  19. im glad u found this cause when i posted that tim said that people said i was b.s but damn now u danja stans can realize that tim thinks the track is garbage.. she is done and washed up...u seen her belly that shit was dancin more than her on the vmas's

  20. J, I totally agree. And anonymous, like J said, if Tim thought Danja's beat for "Gimme More" was garbage, that's like Tim calling his own current style garbage (or at least all this stuff he's acting like he's done). But Tim DIDN'T say the beat was garbage, so it's not about Danja's inability.

  21. People need to step back and forget Britney's vocals. Just take in the beat. It's FIRE!! The beat is banging! I LOVE how it sounds up loud and I bet it sounds hot in a club. There's no way anybody can tell me it's "garbage". Had Justin had gotten that beat, Tim would probably be all over it.

I wonder what'd happen if somebody like Nicole Scherzinger had got that track - I'm sure people would be singing a different tune. I honesty would've expected Nicole to have dropped a song like "Gimme more" and Britney to have gotten something shitty like "Whatever u like".

  22. the beat is good, but like i said, it's kinda like an undercooked "SexyBack." i got a feeling it'll play to diminishing returns on radio considering some of the superior tracks Timbaland/Danja have had recently.

also is it just me or do a bunch of Danjahandz's solo tracks sound like there needs to be more to the drums? actually his beats on the whole just sound kinda Timbo-lite, like it's something you've heard in their collaborations, but not everything's in place.
