VH1's & The Chronicles The Leak: Duran Duran

Listen to Red Carpet Massacre and we just added some tracks to listen to for those who can't access the VH1 page. Yes the album has leaked and I'll be the first in line on Tuesday to buy it.

01 The Valley

02 Red Carpet Massacre
03 Nite Runner
04 Falling Down
05 Box Full O' Honey
06 Skin Divers
07 Tempted

08 Tricked Out

09 Zoom In
10 She's Too Much
11 Dirty Great Monster
12 Last Man Standing

And in case you missed it from our prior Duran Duran posting, here is a track by track analysis from the band. It's going to be one of the best albums of the year in my opinion. Danja yet again brings the heat! Thanks to April for the info.

  2. i heard Zoom In and Timbo's not in that track. i have a feeling though he helped out on the Tempted Track. that track's hot

  3. oh yea and goddammit i wish timbo and danja would stop using that techno drum pattern in all of their songs. they used it in gimme more, sexyback, way i are, release, tempted, nite runner, cut off time, zoom in, number one fan, and any other pop song they've ever done.

  4. yeah, i agree that Tempted-track has that "way i are"-feel also in the melody, but i like it. And I love "last man standing" with that typical Timbo beatboxing like "my love"..!

  8. Timbaland's supposedly not on "Last Man Standing." Just Danja. Any beatboxing could have been programmed, anyway.

I'm not feeling this album on first listen. I may buy it to support Danja and hope it grows on me. I think I would like it better if Duran Duran had nothing to do with it, haha.

  9. ^^Programming beatboxing is going to be the next trend in production watch it.

  10. grouprip is out now

  11. yeah somethin tells me tim gave influences on 'tempted' either that or danja really has got even better -- best song n beat on the record!

  12. Tracks 3, 6 and 9 were (co-)produced by Tim.

  13. ^ @ Jake... either that or Danja did the majority of "SexyBack" himself... which I don't doubt. He did win an award for it, after all.

  14. ^Obviously cause Britney's Get Naked is also very similar to Sexyback/Misommunication.

  15. i got the grouprip and its sick.danja, justin timberlake, and timbo did there thing

  16. They did sexyback together lol at wanted's statement.

  17. terrible voices. the beats are okay.

  18. "majority" doesn't mean Timbo didn't have some part, anonymous. Obviously, he did. The only thing is, Danja usually recycles his own styles, and not Tim's. So, some of the sounds (and probably some of the most prominent ones) you hear in both "SexyBack" and "Tempted" are Danja.

Anyway, it's not as if you have a video of them making the beat or some verifiable quote as proof... if you do, please do provide it.

  20. i really don't know what to say about this album...the songs are good...but on some tracks danja's beats seem way too over the top for those particular melodies...I mean take jt's track that is in my mind the best structured and put toghether song of the album and that compliments duran duran's sound best ,whereas some danja beats are plain too crazy, just as in the blackout album...lol,maybe I'm getting just too old...the songs timbo collaborated on are really hot though, but i kinda expected more from zooming in...

  21. "Tempted" is the SHIT!!! Best track on the album no doubt. I'm lovin' that high pitched synth in the chorus....

    ReplyDelete
  22. this cd is quite an achievement... the stuttering synths on Tempted, and Last Man Standing are ridiculous... those are my favorites..

    ReplyDelete
  23. omg, this is terrible. LOL.

I'm a big Timbo fan and dont like danja at all.
Please make a special site for all the danja, b.spears, duran duran stuff.
And keep this a Timbo site.

  24. timbo tracks are the best... danja doesn't project his sound enough into the tracks he did besides "tempted" which is great.

alot of this album sounds like gay pride music. im a massive stan of timbo and danja but im sorry but it just does.

btw, programmed beatboxing will not be the next trend.. everyone is jacking Timbo and Danja right now with 80's PAD chords and verb snares and such but no one has emulated beatboxing... that shit is corny. the current/new trend is kick kick layered on the snare pattern (techno).. that will take us well into 08. i can't call anything further than that except the reincarnation of the 90's dance/pop music sound. The-Dream is doing a great job of bringing Cranberries back with that "eh" shit right now so we'll let him guide us til someone more influencial comes thru.

    done.

  25. Love Tim and Danja! Tempted is straight up recycled Sexy Back wack, if a no name producer made it you would not feel it thats the truth, a million synth lines dont make a good track.Bottom line the best tracks are Falling Down, The Valley (Hot Beat!!),Box Full O' Honey, and Red Carpet Massacre. The vocals are a little sloppy joe. Justin should have done a couple more tracks. The beats make this album and shine brighter than Duran Duran.

  26. What's with you guys not using Zshare anymore? Is there some sort of problem with it right now? This new music provider you've found is painfully slower on loading, not to mention it just gives up altogether after 2 or 3 songs.

I agree. I dont dislike danja at all but isnt this supposed to be a Timbaland site? You all post all the danja stuff equally as you post Timbaland stuff. This might as well turn into a MUSIC BLOG not a TIMBALAND BLOG.

  28. "The valley" is SERIOUS!!! I LOVE "Tempted" too. It has the same stomp as "Gimme more". And "Zoom in" is the best joint that features Tim's production out of the 3 tracks he contributed to. I LOVE how the chorus swings.

And I disagree with ya anonymous. If a no name producer did do these beats I'd feel them all the same because they are hot beats first and produced by Danja second.

The thing about the whole techno vibe is that it's been done before. It's been done for years. It's just that a mainstream producer who was associated with Rap, Hip hop and R&B hadn't really done it before.

I mean, shit. Madonna went mainstream with techno for "Ray of light". William Orbit was actually doing it from day one. Just listen to joints of hers such as "Runaway lover" from "Music". That shit is stomped and synthed out and bangs as hard as a Tim and Danja beat. *LOL* "Red carpet massacre" itself actually reminds me of a William Orbit joint.

  29. "Tempted" is HAWTness. Could you imagine if the track was given to Michael Jackson!? Oh dear God. I would not be ready for it.
