"Apologize" makes UK history

Timbaland and One Republic's "Apologize" has just received the title as the most played song in UK History. The number three song in the charts this week, last week clocked up the most plays by any song in a single week since monitoring began in 1987with an impressive 10,331 plays.

The song beat the previous record holder, the Timbaland-produced "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado from 2006, by 25 plays. Timbaland also produced another three, for a total of 5 records in the top ten:

1. Timbaland/OneRepublic 'Apologize'
2. Nelly Furtado 'Promiscuous'
3. Beyonce 'Irreplaceable'
4. Justin Timberlake 'SexyBack'
5. Fergie 'Big Girls Don't Cry'

7. Nelly Furtado 'Say It Right'
8. Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean 'Hips Don't Lie'

  2. Wow! Half of the top 10 most played songs of all-time. Thats impressive. Its hard to believe that as much as we love Tim in the US, he's even more popular in England and all over the world. Keep brining the heat. Time to get all ten of those high scores. Donkey Kong style.

  4. The fact that these songs are all recent tracks just goes to show that radio is playing the same songs over and over at a higher and higher rate.

  7. That article is F.A.K.E...it actually concerns the US pop radios not UK...Apologize actually received the most spins ever on a day on pop radios (over 10330 spins)and I remember "promiscuous" having that record last year so.
