Bishop Lamont "Donkey Kong Savage" produced by Danja

We told you about "Donkey Kong Savage" when it appeared on DJ Whoo Kid's DJ mixtape Pow Radio Vol.10. Thought to be a Dr. Dre beat, the track is actaully produced by Danja and can be heard in full off of Bishop Lamont's latest mixtape The Confessional out today. You can download the entire mixtape and get all the production credits on Aftermath Music. For all you Danja fans here is:

"Donkey Kong Savage"

And if you haven't seen this video I highly suggest you do. Props to Big A.

  1. DL'd this on Saturday... and, "Donkey Kong Savage" is by no means the strongest track on the album. Listen to those horns, though!

Reading those liner notes, it's upsetting that none of the tracks were actually produced by Dre. Either way, it's a solid effort and it has turned my eye toward West Coast rap.

  6. isn't replaying a melody still sampling? you guys say danja isn't sampling, he replays the melody...isn't that still sampling?

  8. Danja DOES sample, just not as often as some other producers, like Timbo for example, probably because he has superb skills at the keys and drums and has good concept for rhythm and melodies.

  9. ^^^^LOL superb skills at the keys and drums

I agree that Danja is a genius when it comes to melody but when it comes to drums he is superwack!!!

    No comparison to Timbaland!!!!

  12. Tim is a beast on the drums that and his crazy drum patterns.

  13. you have to agree...he does suck at drums and when he does do good drums its a beat that we have all heard somewhere

  14. Yeah... Danja's drums are mostly weak sonically. I'm surprised Tim didn't get on him about that for those 4 years. Maybe he did, but maybe Danja didn't want all his drums to knock.

I do. My drums knock like hell. I kind of also feel that Danja is kind of lowering on his weirdness. I don't know why, but I've heard some lazy tracks from him lately. But this one is nice in the "Dre" way.... :(

  17. Danja can make the drums impact when he's in Tim mode, but usually... he's on some weird "bass don't need to knock" mode. IT ALWAYS NEEDS TO BLEED OUT THE SPEAKER! More "Miscommunication", less "Appetite"!

  18. He sounds like a whack Jay-Z.

  19. Miscommunication DID NOT KNOCK! It bled and sounded WAY too distorted. It was not mixed down right.

  20. Miscommunication did not knock.

"Get Naked", and "Perfect Lover" had his best drums sonically speaking in my opinion.

  21. Did anyone know this?:

Hit maker Timbaland is no longer single. According to US Weekly, Timbaland tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend and publicist Monique Idlett at ceremony in Virgina yesterday. The ceremony was only to make it official as Timbo and his wifey will have a formal ceremony in Aruba June 22nd.

Timbaland and Monique recently had a daughter, Reign, in November of last year. During Monique's baby shower, Timbaland proposed.
