You know Boogie, I thought I would give you a head start before I just put a big hurt on ya. And you know after I fudged the fake timbo post (sorry y'all), I'm going to come out swingin. So let's begin...
Round 1: Boogie, you started off with a world music sample, so I thought I'd return the favor: Raje Shwari ft. Timbaland - "Indian Style" This was Raje's buzz single that got some good airplay by some BBC radio stations (shout out to DJ Markie Mark and the whole Punjabi Hit Squad!). I was feelin' the song until I realized that the ENTIRE song concept (lyrics, melody, EVERYTHING) was based off this Bollywood film song "No. 1 Punjabi" from the 2001 film "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke." You can see that Raje and Tim just took the whole song and just added some English every once in a while.
Now you know I couldn't stop with just that. Did you know that the drum pattern for the track is also sampled? Yep, it samples the Punjabi folk tune "Dhola Ve Dhola." So there you have it. The melody, the lyrics, the drum pattern, everything was the combination of "No. 1 Punjabi" and "Dhola Ve Dhola."
Round 2: Again Boogie, since you wanted to do TV themes, I'll play fair and do a TV theme as well. One of my favorite songs off Tim's Bio has to be "Talking on the Phone." The track is just insane! But did you know that the main beat samples a the theme from a TV cartoon? Yup, it samples the one and only "Fat Albert Theme Song." Tim did an amazing job of chopping this sample, instead of just straight up looping like he did with another TV theme song *cough* "Underdog" *cough*
Damn, I just killed you in one thread Boogie. Funny thing is, I haven't even given you my best. Let's see what ya got.
