Czar's Sample of the Week

It's that time again. New week, new Timbo sample. I'm gonna give y'all two samples because both of them are real short.

For those who don't know Tim has been using sample CDs for a while, and in 2001 he started using a lot of Indian sample cds. The two sample CDs that seemed to be his favorite in 2001 were "Spices of India" and "Deepest India". Both are produced by the same company Zero-G.

So the two samples for this week are coming from the Southern Hummingbird, Tweet. Tweet got her big break with "Oops (Oh My)". If you didn't know there was a sample in this track, listen closesly to the subtle percussion sound. It's taken from the Spcies of India track "Mod Dafinda Speeds". If you still can't hear the sample, take a listen to the "Oops (Oh My) Timstrumental." .

Soon after Oops (Oh My) came out, Tweet and Tim brought us "Call Me". This "flute sample" from Deepest India was used again and again by other artists like the Bombay Rockers and the Rishi Rich Project (for those of us who listen to desi beats).

So there you have it, two samples from two of Tim's biggest hits of 2001. As always, look out for the next installment of Czar's Sample of the Week.

Pz,
Czar
