Czar's Samples of the Week

Sorry for the late post, I've been a bit busy this week. BUT, I'm back, it's still a new week, which means it's time again for Czar's Sample(s) of the Week.

So last week, I hinted that this week's sample was going to come from none other than Missy "Misdameanor" Elliott. At first I was only going to showcase one sample, but then I decided let's just do two.

So the first sample comes from Missy's 2001 hit "Get Ur Freak On" from the album "Miss E...So Addictive." Everyone probably mispronounced the Indian vocal sample that comes right after missy says "Hollaaaaa/got the feelin' son/let me throw you some," and probably wondered where the hell Tim found that track. The Indian track is called "Larka" and it comes from one of the Indian sample CDs that Tim used a lot during this time, Deepest India.

Off the same album, Missy's "Old School Joint" samples just that, an old school joint. The track samples "Pop It" from the 80s r&b band One Way. It doesn't sound like Tim actually sampled the track, just re-played it, but it's still worth a listen.

That's it for this week. Stay tuned for next week because I guarantee it's going to be crazy!

Peace,
Czar
