New Danja: KC & Bayje Step Up 2 Soundtrack

Along with Timbo and Missy, Danja joined in on the Step Up 2: The Streets Soundtrack contributing 2 tracks.

The first track is his newly signed artist KC called "Say Cheese"

Solid track and a nice way to debut his new signee.

The 2nd track is from Bayje called "Impossible"

It's great to see Bayje get her shine. If you haven't checked them out yet go to her myspace page and listen to The Clutch written "Jealous Of Your Whip" and The Clutch written, Brian Kidd produced "Problem" (my personal favorite Clutch to date). I hope her album sees the light of day.

Danja is definitely showing his skills with these 2 tracks and continuing to shine on his own. So what do you think, is Danja better as an R&B producer then rap? What about his rock productions?

  1. I'm a huge Danja fan, but I'm not going crazy over these tracks at first listen.

  2. Liking the Brian Kidd Bayje track, though.

  3. What Alex said... that both tracks are uninspired.

And, to add on, I feel that Danja brings the most heat when he produces pop records. His rap records are alright, but they still stem from his strong influence in pop. And, his R&B records... let me not think about it.

Danja needs to listen to Deliverance or Under Construction for once.

  5. The Bayje uses the same synth as 100 Million from Baby produced by Cool n Dre or who ever. When it first dropped I was listenin to it like o shit lol but it luckily moved away from there fast.

  6. Those Bayje tracks are awesome, my girl Candice always impresses me with her quirky lyrics Britney singing about her "Radar", Keke singing about her boyfriend loving his joystick more than her and now this one about a car, I LOVE her! The arrangements on the two tracks are awesome as with The Clutch/K.Michael tracks and as always too.

The Danja tracks are unimpressive, he's not really matching up to how hot "Gimme More" and "Break The Ice" got me at the moment, nothing he's done since then has been better ot anywhere near as good...but I know he's got it in him to do plenty more! He does seem to work better with Timbo in a lot of cases. (some tracks like Diddy/Britney being exceptions)

  7. im feeling KC - Say Cheese more than tha Bayje track, the beat is hot

Although i dont know why its called Say Cheese, I think it should be called "Half Way" or "Keep it Comming".

  9. KC's "Say cheese" joint is the better of the two. That beat is bangin'. I just love how minimal and dark it is.

The Bayje joint is alright, but it's just alright. Nothing special, but it may grow on me after a few listens. The production style reminds me alot of Rodney Jerkins. But several of Danja's productions do.

I am not feeling that "Jealous of your whip" song at all. That song is garbage. I expected better from The Clutch.

  10. I also have to add that "Say Cheese" should've gone to Usher. The whole song and the way the dude delivers it reminds me of Usher, only I think Usher would've done it better.

  14. The main melody on "Say Cheese" is crazy! The drums and the counter melodies could be better though.

  15. Whoah I'm surprised Danja did Impossible, I thought it was some rip-off...I also feel it's ALOT worse than Jealous & Problem...but I'm really glad she's still signed and recording with even higher profile producers now...
