Shock Value's 4th single is........ "Scream"

"The shock of Timbaland Presents: Shock Value has turned to awe after spinning off three consecutive No 1 hits. Set to be the fourth is "Scream" featuring Keri Hilson and Nicole Scherzinger. "Scream" follows "Give It To Me" featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, which topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart (sales of 248,000 digital downloads catapulted the track from No 42 in one week, making it the third biggest rise to No 1 in the chart's history); "The Way I Are" featuring Keri Hilson and D.O.E., which hit No 1 on the Pop 100 chart and remains Top 20 on the Hot 100 (issue date December 8); and "Apologize" featuring OneRepublic, currently No 1 Pop 100 and No 2 Hot 100.

The shock has reached around the world too. In late November, Timbaland joined The Beatles, Madonna, and ABBA as the only artists to simultaneously hold the No 1 and No 2 positions on the Australian singles chart, with "Apologize" and "The Way I Are," respectively. In 1985, Madonna was the last artist to achieve that landmark. "Apologize" also annihilated by nearly 25% the previous record for the number of downloads in one week. Timbaland Presents: Shock Value has already reached platinum in Australia and Canada, and is nearing platinum in the U.S.

Furtado, OneRepublic, Hilson, and D.O.E. are labelmates on super-producer Timbaland's Mosley Music Group label via Interscope Records. OneRepublic's debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, which includes the original version of "Apologize," was released on November 20."

Not a fan of this track at all and honestly I don't think it's going to be a hit BUT let's hope Timbo, Keri, and Nicole make me eat my words.

  4. The guitars on this track are sick. I don't understand how anyone could think otherwise. Good choice for the pop crowd.

  5. agree with nathan and 2 of the anons. this track is one of the better ones off of shock value. although i would have preferred BOUNCE.

  6. I love this track but i don't think it will do well on radio, but time will tell...*jerome*

  7. I'm so happy about this. This is also very smart in order to further jump off Keri's career before she releases her own first single. Nicole is in dying need of some publicity as well, considering how both her singles have flopped.

This is actually one of my favorite tracks on Shock Value. I'm expecting a hot video, they better not dissapoint.

  10. Timbaland must thikn he's so hot that he can release anything off of "Shock value" and it'll sell. I have listened to 1 minute of "Scream" and it was 1 minute of my life I want back. The track stinks. I think Interscope / Universal may be trying to kill 2 birds with one stone with its release though:

    - Try and get Keri's name out there more in preperation for her album (whenever that releases!)
    - Try and save the mess that has been Nicole's solo career so far and get a song she features on playing on the radio. Because "Whatever U like" and "Baby love" ain't doing shit.

"Scream" is rubbish. It's one of the many shit songs on "Shock value". The only other 2 decent songs that haven't been released yet are "Bombay" and "Miscommunication". If the label was taking the promote Keri and Nicole angle, they should've had Nicole feature on a remix of "Miscommunication" and deleted Sebastian's verse from it and had Tim do another verse instead.

  11. i agree partially with u j but, scream is alright if u r in a good mood, but i feel that "One and Only" should have been the next single or "Miscommunication" atleast, Tim or who ever should have gave this some more thought though

  12. i actually like scream. at first i was like WTF?? but its ok now, maybe theyll add another song to the end of the video becuz scream has like a minute of instrumental at the end

  13. Why would Tim release a single that he did not produce? His contribution to Miscommunication was minimal and I think it shows. Why everyone is in love with that song blow my mind. Danja is a great sidekick but aside from We Takin' Over, Showtime (still only like the 7th best song on Loose) and Wonder Woman his solo productins dont compare at all to Tim solos or their collabos.

  14. I love "Scream" I can see I'm in the minority though! I think the production is hot and I'm glad its been released. Its obviously to give Keri promotion as Nicole Scherzinger barely contributes a verse and Timbo also says barely anything on the track, so its essentially a Keri track.

This song is quite raunchy though! How they gonna get it on radio?

  16. i think people are put off this track because it starts rather abruptly with no intro.. the track progresses well though and the beat gets better and better as the track ends.. it reminds me of some late tracks by Kiley Dean (maybe Escape)

i hope they make a good video for this.. although i love the track, i think it will struggle unless theres some good media work.

  17. Good idea for Keri and Nicole. They need it.

  18. His contribution to Miscommunication was minimal and I think it shows.

His contribution to the 'remix' of "Apologize" was minimal, but he still released that. All the n***a did was yoddle gibberish over the beat, reverb that gibberish, speed the original song up and then add some simple ass drum loop over the original beat.

The way I see it, if you record a song for an album, you record it with the intention of it possibly being a single. Regardless of Tim's input to "Miscommunication", he could still choose to release it if he wanted to because its on his album. Plus, it's more exposure for Keri, because as we all know, she owns that entire song.

"Scream" definitely seems like a choice from higher ups at Interscope - hoping to give Keri and Nicole some shine in one swoop. I hate the song, but if it some how helps Keri and gets her album out faster, then I hope it does well.

  19. what is there to "own" on miscommunication? song is mediocre at best.

bring on bounce, that song is hot, a big-name collabo, and most importantly is brain-melting and left field. sounds at least a little different from other recent tim productions and pretty much everything else out there

  20. j, the synth line added to Apologize alone is genius.

  21. Whether or not a choice by the suits, “Scream” was one of my two favourite songs on Shock Value, along with “The Way I Are,” and now both will have been singles for the album, so I’m estatic.

“Scream” is way better than that lame FutureSex/LoveSounds throwaway “Release,” at any rate.

  22. I think scream is one of the better tracks.
    Love that instrumental.
Its like a Stevie Nicks remake track.

  23. don't like "Scream," really? that's one of the best shits on there. just the right balance of happy-without-cheesiness.
